Last day of vacation, folks! Though there's still plenty to do in town, it's also time to start packing up those suitcases that exploded all over your rooms during the time you've been here. Of course, you might find that it's been busy while you've been out exploring, since there seems to be more of it than when you arrived...

Temperatures had taken a tangible dive over the past day or so, though Riften did not quite reach the depths you might remember from Rorikstead. The marketplace had been almost cleared of all rubbish from the festivities last night, and most of the Nords had slept off their hangovers and begun, however carefully, to return to city life.

Time, then, for your last evening in Skyrim. Try and enjoy it.

Today was the last full day in Skyrim for the folks from Fandom, so it was time to make it count! The weather was still cool but sunny, and the town might not have been quite as busy with people recovering from last night's festivities, but there was still plenty to do before fall break was over!

As the day started to wane, the spirits of Riften's townspeople certainly didn't, and it was probably clear from the bustling of the people that something was going on tonight. This would not be the night to stay indoors, that was for sure!

Break week was winding down, so it was probably a good thing that the outdoor marketplace was buzzing, hopefully waking people up to enjoy a pleasant, sunny day. Sure, it was still a little chilly outside, but it was also beautiful everywhere people went, and that had to count for something.

Unless they were particularly heavy sleepers, it was doubtful anyone at the Bee & Barb was going to get much of a lie-in as day broke across Riften, given the Inn's location right next to the bustling outdoor marketplace. Weather-wise, it was clear and sunny, and although a good deal warmer than it had been in Rorikstead, it wasn't exactly t-shirt temperature outside.

In comparison to Rorikstead, Riften is a metropolis. Though it has diminished somewhat in glory since the Civil War begun, it remains a large city set in the warmest part of Skyrim. That last part is evident also in the enormous amount of foliage - technically the Autumnal Forest starts just outside Riften's doors, but in reality, trees are found everywhere in the city.

Water, too: Riften was built partly on top of Lake Honrich, and the lake provides both trade lanes and an ever-present source of food for the city.

As work wrapped up in the afternoon, the guides showed up to the village again to take whoever wanted to along on their excursions to various parts of northwestern Skyrim. The temperatures were on 'cold-ish' - about as warm as this corner of Skyrim would get this time of year - and the sun hung high in the sky.

The morning dawned cold and clear in Rorkistead, but it's been a couple of days, so everyone's acclimated and happy, right?

Right?

Well, if not, you'll warm right up after a few hours of hard labor, so up and at 'em, Fandom!

Most of the work the Nords required from the students had been completed in the morning - as per the deal they had struck with Fandom's administrators, the afternoon left time for other pursuits.

One could stay in Rorikstead, relax, take a bath and eat - or one could join several Nord guides, who would take anyone who wished to see some of Skyrim's wonders.

Now that the sun is out, the temperatures in Rorikstead have picked up - now they hang somewhere around the freezing point, not below it. The Nords are out in the village already, wearing short-sleeved shirts and dresses as they go about their business.

The sunlight also shows the extent of the problems the dragon has caused: several homes are missing walls or have singed or partially-burned roofs. Plenty of work to do. Get a hearty breakfast and get cracking!

Skyrim is cold. Bitterly cold. The village of Rorikstead lies close to the mountain range that separates Whiterun Hold from the Reach. While the temperatures here are considered temperate for Skyrim, there is still clear frost in the soil and an everpresent fog in the air. The village itself is made up of a collection of farmhouses and homes flanking a single road on both sides. Many of the homes are in a state of disrepair - some parts of them look downright singed.

Fandom's students and teachers will be warmly received by Mralki and his son Erik at the local Frostfruit Inn. It's much warmer inside, so hurry on in...
