As the boat made it's way slowly to Baltimore, guests had time to get in some last minute shopping or relaxation before they were once more in Fandom. Back to school and classes that made little to no sense.

Ah, vacation. You cruel mistress you.

After an afternoon spent in the wonderful city of Boston (excluding those lazy Fandomites who'd decided to stay on board through the day), in the evening it was once again time to board the cruise ship Enchantment of the Seas for one last night of vacation fun. Tomorrow, the ship would sail back to Baltimore, and the denizens of fair Fandom island would go back to whatever passed for normal life for them.

Yes, Fall Break was drawing to a close, but it wasn't over quite yet! There was still time to relax and take advantage of the many amenities the ship offered.

They pulled into Boston Harbor early in the morning, giving the guests ample time to adjust to their new surroundings. It was a little cloudy, but it was nowhere near as cold as it had been up in Newfoundland. Decent enough weather just to hang around the ship itself - even better to get out and explore the city, or try some of the excursions there were on offer.

Tomorrow, the ship would get back to Maryland. So enjoy your last full day on vacation while it lasted.

After a day of exploration on the islands of St. Pierre et Micquelon, Fandom folks boarded the Enchantment of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean cruise ship that would take them back to Baltimore on Sunday.

Tomorrow they'd make a stop in Boston. But for now? Relax, explore your new rooms (the roommates were the same, but the view was much different) and the many shipboard amenities that were offered!

Alas, it was time to say goodbye to the Spa at the Monastery, although considering the weather, it might not have been such a sad goodbye. After all, St. Pierre and a cruise awaited the folks from Fandom, and who knew what kind of mischief they could get into in a brand new place? If nothing else, there'd be no more hard labor.

Assuming no one got into the kind of trouble that led to jailtime, of course. The administration could only hope.

The last evening in St. John’s was in full swing, a little cloudy but not too terribly cold. Which was excellent news for those planning on heading in to town and hitting up some of the pubs entertainment options available.

The good news was, it still wasn't raining. The bad news was, it was still muddy outside. Hopefully, if you were coming out for the Habitat for Humanity build, you'd wear shoes you didn't mind getting dirty!

If you weren't heading for the build, well, there was still plenty to do, especially for those who had a thing for wildlife. Or, there were still plenty of hotel amenities to explore, and with only one day left in town, time was running out to see what the city had to offer!

The weather wasn't much warmer than yesterday - 53 degrees for the Americans, 12 degrees for the rest of the world - and it was a lot more overcast with just an occasional hint of the sun. Thankfully, the rain seemed to be staying away, which was probably more important to those who would actually be venturing outside of the hotel for the Habitat for Humanity build. Those who were staying in had the perfect weather for staying under the covers - with or without someone else.

The clouds during the day had burned off by early evening, leading to a crisp, clear autumn night--43 degrees for the Americans, 5°C for those who spoke metric--perfect for sitting around a fire with a cup of something warm, or for a nice walk into town to see the pubs many cultural offerings being, um, offered.

Or there was always staying at the spa and getting something waxed...please go out, people.

While it was cloudy today, it wasn't raining. That meant good things for anyone planning to be part of the Habitat for Humanity build. To a point, anyway: the ground was still pretty muddy.

Elsewhere in town, the sciencely-inclined were well-catered to, with trips to various science centers around the city. Those who weren't into either of those things could still hit up the shops, or head back to the hotel for a nice, relaxing spa treatment. Who ever said Canada was boring?

Morning saw yet another temperature drop, though it would warm to roughly yesterday's temperatures as the day went on. Rain had left a wet sheen on the area, but it had since made way for simple clouds. If you were lucky, you might even catch sight of the sun eventually.

The hotel's facilities were still available for anyone who wanted to use them, including those staying in and avoiding the Habitat for Humanity build. Though if you were planning to get your chest waxed, we really recommend the build instead.

Someday, there would be a clear evening in St. John's. Today was not that day - or that night. (Spoiler: tomorrow might be.) The rain was light, though, the temperature in the mid-40's for you Fahrenheit-speaking heathens, and around 7°C for normal people.

There were plenty of indoor entertainment options, though, for the normal and the not-so, and if you'd packed a jacket and umbrella, the walk to various night-spots wouldn't be uncomfortable at all. If you didn't pack an umbrella, you could always buy one! Or stand under someone else's...ella... ella... ella.

But for anyone who actually wanted to get out of the hotel, there was plenty to do today. The morning program for Fandom was filled with an introductory look at the Habitat for Humanity housing project they'd be working on all week. It was a little out of the city center, on an abandoned plot the local chapter had found. Some of the houses were already a little further along - others weren't much more than a few stacks of wooden planks. There would be plenty to do, and the help was needed.

There was plenty to do in the afternoons too, however. Shopping trips and hiking trails were available to anyone who might be interested.

Of course, you could always just wander around town on your own... but it was still a little rainy.

It had become colder overnight. The odd raincloud drifted past, drizzling on the area until it decided to go its merry way again.

While there was plenty to do in town, the hotel's facilities were still open and available to anyone who decided to stay in rather than head down to the project or explore the town. Spa treatments, good food, and comfortable beds awaited anyone who decided to go for that option.

Wake up, Fandomites - it's your first full day on vacation!

Monday evening in the oldest (English) city in North America was crisp and... not all that clear, actually, with a light rain drizzling down. Lucky for the residents of Fandom, there was plenty to do inside where they could be nice and warm and dry. Like that rather expansive Thanksgiving feast being prepared in the Abbey Restaurant.

It was distinctly colder in St. John's than it had been in Fandom. Then again, for a city known to be the foggiest, snowiest, wettest, windiest and cloudiest of Canada, that was only to be expected. The ocean crashed somewhat menacingly into the coast every now and again, and by the time the group from Fandom arrived, the sky was already starting to darken.

Too-dark for work, but not too-dark to check into the hotel and unpack.

The hotel itself was a rather intimidating white building, surrounded by heavy bushes. Inside, though, you would find not just rooms fitted with cosy fireplaces and cosier jet-tubs near the beds, but also an extensive spa for anyone who really just wanted to relax before getting to the hard work.

Welcome to your vacation destination, Fandom.
