It was the last day in these islands before heading back to that significantly cooler other island. Smart people might have packed up their belongings last night, to leave as much free time as possible in the morning to enjoy the cloud-dotted but sunny sky, the 82-degree air, and the wealth of Howell-sponsored local amenities.

Or you could be like most high schoolers in this situation: sleeping in, slightly hung-over, half a week's worth of crumpled clothes, leftover local dishes in takeout cartons and unsorted souvenirs still strewn randomly across your villa floor.

The resort was here for you either way. For now.

The rain had picked up a little in intensity, and in response, the temperature had dropped again - a whole whopping five degrees fahrenheit down to 77F (and a half). But that just meant more cause for everyone to crawl up nice and cosy inside and watch the water crash down into the ocean, right?

Right.

Tomorrow you'd all be packing up to head back to the island - make the best of your last night in paradise.

Yesterday's clouds hadn't left the sky: in fact, visitors could expect the odd spot of rain today. Not that the temperature had dropped, rising one degree to 28 celsius - or 82 degrees Fahrenheit.

But don't let the rainclouds chase you off: there was still plenty to do, including an island-hopping cruise arranged especially for the school (Lovey Howell didn't do things by halves). Enjoy yourselves!

The temperature was holding at a not-so-chilly 27 degrees celsius (or eighty degrees fahrenheit for some of you). As night fell, a few clouds formed in the sky, but so far they seemed to be drifting past peacefully, releasing no unpleasant showers on the resort.

Nightfall meant the bars were open and booming, but there was plenty to do elsewhere, too!

Normally, one might look forward to Friday's arrival, but today it meant there were only a few days of fall break left. The weather was perfect for outdoor activities - still hanging around 27C/80F with a warm breeze - and there were plenty of things left to do!

Assuming one could get past the urge to sleep in, of course. It was still a vacation, after all.

Enjoying the sun? Wait until you see the sunset!

The resort is still concentrating on letting you relax, but there are different, louder, options for evening entertainment on other parts of the island, and with the temperatures hovering around 27/80 as the sun goes down, turtlenecks will be nowhere in sight.

Hopefully, everyone had packed their things well and not left anything behind in South Africa, because it was time to explore Seychelles! The staff of the Banyan Tree were ready to help Fandom's visitors with anything they might need - including making sure everyone remembered their umbrellas, because while the morning was nice and clear with a temperature of 27C/80F, it was going to get up to 30C/86F later in the day, with possible thunderstorms.

But hey, there was a whole new resort to explore if the weather didn't fully cooperate!

Yes, dear visitors from Fandom, the portion of your fall break that was set in South Africa was drawing to a close. But not to fret, there was still one more evening to enjoy all the Singita Boulders Lodge and Kruger National Park had to offer.

Tomorrow, the Seychelles!

Good morning, Fandomites! It was another beautiful morning with a temperature of 23C/74F, and while it was going to be partly cloudy later in the day, it was still going to be a lovely 35C/95F.

Better make the most of your last day in South Africa, people!

Yes, sadly, yet another day was coming to a close ... but just because the sun had set didn't mean there was any shortage of things to do! So go forth, Fandomites, and enjoy what evening at the Singita Boulders Lodge has to offer.

Good morning, visitors from Fandom! Welcome to Tuesday in South Africa. There's a light drizzle this morning with a temperature of 17C/63F, but things will dry out- and warm up- by afternoon where it'll be a much warmer 31C/88F. So get out there and see some wildlife! ...Or hang out at the lodge. Whatever suits your fancy.

The sun was beginning to set on the second day at Singita Boulders Lodge. There was time for tea before the sunset game drive began, or you could contiue sunning yourself at the pool until dinner--it's your vacation, Fandom, enjoy it!

The sun rose over the lodge in a stunning display of colors though without the musical accompaniment at way too early in the morning, but everyone was up anyway, right? It was time for the very first game drive around the park, and an early start was necessary to see the animals at the watering holes.

Fortunately in a lodge this nice, coffee was provided.

Good morning, Fandom! It's only 63 degrees (or 17, if you're a local) as you wake up, so bring a jacket along with your hat, camera, water and binoculars (and all the sunscreen--trust us) on the drive, but it'll warm up to a comfortable 79 (or26) by midafternoon. Ready to see some lions?

It was a lovely 87 degrees Fahrenheit in Kruger, South Africa - quite a change from the weather Fandom had been enduring over the past few weeks. The sun shone strong above the vast stretches of the park, including the lovely lodging complex they would be staying at over the next few days.

If you looked out the windows, you might spot animals wandering around peacefully (or in some cases, not so peacefully) across the landscape-- or you might spot the pool, bright blue underneath the trees.

Or maybe you'd rather stay indoors and read in the library-- anything was possible.

Welcome to your vacation destination, Fandom. Enjoy it.
