Yesterday's clouds hadn't left the sky: in fact, visitors could expect the odd spot of rain today. Not that the temperature had dropped, rising one degree to 28 celsius - or 82 degrees Fahrenheit.

But don't let the rainclouds chase you off: there was still plenty to do, including an island-hopping cruise arranged especially for the school (Lovey Howell didn't do things by halves). Enjoy yourselves!

Everyone is in hillside pool villas, where small private swimming pools, veranda with sun loungers and open-air pavilion invite you to let the world pass by while spending leisurely days taking in the glorious views of the Indian Ocean and the surrounding rain forest. Thoughtful details such as the submerged 'couple seat' in the private dip pool, and an indoor sunken bathtub make up this romantic haven for two. Or kind of awkward, depending on your roommate relationship.

Natalie, perfectly social creature that she was, was having room service breakfast. But, with a guide book in hand! She was intending to go on the discovery drive today (because museums), and she was trying to pick a nice place to go have dinner tonight.

Of course neither of those were particularly social things to do, either, but she didn't care.

Calm your mind and take in the peacefulness of your surroundings. Allow the therapists to offer you a soothing foot bath, herbal drink with refreshments and a few minutes to leave the cares of the world behind. All Banyan Tree Spa sessions are 30 miutes long. The spa is open from 9:00 AM until 10:00 PM.

The Gym at the Spa welcomes you every day from 7:30 AM until 9:00 PM, and the tennis courts are always open for a good workout!

Jackson was starting his day by randomly quitting fall break and swiftly disappearing at the gym, because fall break was no excuse not to stay in shape. Especially when on break with a bunch of... super beings, or something. Even if he had plans of joining their ranks sooner rather than later.

He's be on that treadmill a while.

It's a climb down, but the island's beach looks inviting enough. The intensely blue water laps up against the sand and the odd protruding rock alike. The ocean is full of fish - perfect for snorkling! - and downright balmy in temperature.

Hop aboard the catamaran for a post-breakfast pre-dinner island hopping cruise! Made up of small islands, many of which are untouched and possessing its unique charm, the Seychelles is perfect for island-hopping.

At the Seychelles, nature always takes centre stage; some islands are bird sanctuaries, while others offer the spectacle of century-old giant tortoises roaming free in their natural environment. Most are uninhabited, giving you the feeling of being a million miles from anywhere.

Cade, who'd gotten ridiculously tan over the last week, decided that the island hopping sounded good. Maybe he'd bring back a tortoise for Sparkle or something since they hadn't managed to find him a pet lion...

Mercy had gotten pretty tan herself - not that her skin wasn't always on the dark side, thanks to her Native American heritage - and had wanted the chance to see woe of the amazing islands and wildlife here.

She smiled a little shyly when she saw Cade, who was looking amazingly good with that tan, and made her way over. "Hey, enjoying our vacation?"

Karolina was here, and looking about as bouncy and happy as she had all week. She didn't even mind that it was a bit cloudy, because it was still warmer than Fandom.

Plus there were tortoises!

Oh, it was the girl from the roof.

It felt strangely invasive to start a conversation here amid all the peace and quiet, but Alec was going to try it anyway because it also felt pretty strange to just stand silently amongst a bunch of other people. Social behavior was hard.

"They're really interesting to watch, aren't they?" he asked with a gesture toward the tortoises. "I didn't realize they could be so big."

Hanna spent most of the last few days close to the resort and the beach. This time, she decided to see more of this place. Island hopping seemed like the best way to so that.

Time to take a break on one of the uninhabited islands. The crew of the catamaran has set up a barbecue (with vegetarian options) for anyone who's hungry!

Don't be afraid if rain falls - it'll blow over in less than three minutes anyway.

Didn't get enough shopping in yesterday? Just want to see the sights? Well, you can still explore the capital Victoria’s Selwyn Clark Market, which offers local attractions and of course the best shopping spots.

This time, your tour guide will take you past all the local museums, including the National History Museum of Seychelles.

I am so, so cold right now. But since I can't be on a tropical vacation, I guess I'll settle for music by my cheery countrymen instead. (Why, yes, link chosen for inherent wrongness of both song and the terrible animation. Oh, the Vengaboys.)

(Also in my experience, yes, there will always be a miniature rainstorm if you decide to barbecue on a tropical island. Always.)
