Hello, Fandomites, and welcome back to Zakera Ward, one of the commercial and artisinal centers of the Citadel.

They found themselves in one of the skyscrapers of the ward - near a cab stand and the elevators, so that anyone who wanted could either grab a cab to a different part of the ward, or go downstairs and take a walk.

But first, Kaidan had something to say. "Hey," he said, "This is Zakera Ward, we've been here before, but today we're taking our time. It's mostly populated by volus, elcor and hanar, but we've got a human commercial zone here as well. Just ask the driver to take you to Shin Akiba. I want to remind you all not to eat anything that's based on dextro-amino acids, and to try to stay away from the gambling dens. Some parts of the wards can get pretty shifty."

He rubbed the back of his head. "Anyway, meet back up here at the end of the afternoon - we'll head back to the Presidium to get our gear and then we'll head back to Fandom."

The majority of the day was going to be swallowed up by the trip to the Wards - for those who decided to go along with that, anyway. That didn't mean there wasn't time to relax on the Presidium.

Artificial night had given way to artificial day again on the Presidium, as diplomats and other high-class workers zipped across the bridges or through the sky in aircar to get to work. Plants were watered, business was tended to... and the Presidium was very sunny indeed.

The group from Fandom arrived at the Presidium early into the afternoon, having travelled by shuttle. Upon first glance, it might have looked like an oddly disk-shaped but otherwise familiar garden city, blue skies up above, grass and trees below, and a long river crossed by many bridges-- but if you stared up for long enough, it would start to become obvious that the sky and the clouds drifting past were just a projection.

Not to worry, though; it wouldn't always be this bright. The Presidium kept to a precise 20-hour day cycle, of which six would be night-time. Not only that, but there seemed to be a perpetual light breeze ensuring that while temperatures ran reasonably warm, they never became unpleasantly hot.

The many public spaces were open, its white walls and floors offset by the abundant greenery. Here and there, you could still notice little splotches of black residue on the walls, or a damaged wall, or an empty spot that looked like it should have had a bench on it - but for the most part, this side of the Presidium was clean.

Fandom's portal spat them out in a sizable, if empty, room. They'd have several moments to compose themselves... and then the double doors at the far side of the room opened up, supplying a young woman in an Alliance uniform - a uniform that should be familiar to anyone who'd ever met Kaidan. At her side stood an old, grey, balding man in an entirely different uniform.

"Good morning," the woman said with a smile. "My name is Major Sarah Erickson. On behalf of the Systems Alliance, I would like to welcome you to the Citadel, and to this section of it called Zakera Ward. This is Captain Bailey, the local Citadel Security captain. He is one of the many fine officers who will be ensuring your safety while you are aboard the Citadel."

"Major," Kaidan said, with a nod of his head.

"Commander," she echoed. "I have a small guide prepared for all of your people. It should explain the basics of Citadel procedures and social codes." She handed Kaidan a stack of admittedly thin leaflets. "You may all leave through these doors," she added. "There will be a short scan of each individual on the other side. At Commander Alenko's advice, we've decided to cut most of our security procedures. We will only be scanning each of you for geth technology. No data will be kept on file, and no, we will not be looking through your clothes." She smiled briefly. "Specific tech only."

"Please read your leaflets and then proceed," she added. "If you have any further questions about the Citadel, you may ask the Commander or any nearby C-Sec officers. And of course, if you're on the Presidium, you can direct questions to Avina."

She bowed out, quickly followed by Bailey, who gave everyone a mildly awkward wave before ducking through the doors.
