FIELD TRIP - Zakera Ward - the Wards - the Citadel, Saturday Morning
Fandom's portal spat them out in a sizable, if empty, room. They'd have several moments to compose themselves... and then the double doors at the far side of the room opened up, supplying a young woman in an Alliance uniform - a uniform that should be familiar to anyone who'd ever met Kaidan. At her side stood an old, grey, balding man in an entirely different uniform.
"Good morning," the woman said with a smile. "My name is Major Sarah Erickson. On behalf of the Systems Alliance, I would like to welcome you to the Citadel, and to this section of it called Zakera Ward. This is Captain Bailey, the local Citadel Security captain. He is one of the many fine officers who will be ensuring your safety while you are aboard the Citadel."
"Major," Kaidan said, with a nod of his head.
"Commander," she echoed. "I have a small guide prepared for all of your people. It should explain the basics of Citadel procedures and social codes." She handed Kaidan a stack of admittedly thin leaflets. "You may all leave through these doors," she added. "There will be a short scan of each individual on the other side. At Commander Alenko's advice, we've decided to cut most of our security procedures. We will only be scanning each of you for geth technology. No data will be kept on file, and no, we will not be looking through your clothes." She smiled briefly. "Specific tech only."
"Please read your leaflets and then proceed," she added. "If you have any further questions about the Citadel, you may ask the Commander or any nearby C-Sec officers. And of course, if you're on the Presidium, you can direct questions to Avina."
She bowed out, quickly followed by Bailey, who gave everyone a mildly awkward wave before ducking through the doors.

Before the Instructions
Re: Before the Instructions
Kaidan was antsy. He was, for the most part, not showing it... but he was doing a regular headcount of all the kids, and wondering if he shouldn't have gone for another round on why eating dextro food was bad.
Re: Before the Instructions
She fidgeted with her bag. In a few minutes, she'd be astounded by the presence of a human C-Sec officer - this quickly into humanity's discovery (it hadn't even been fifty years!). But right now, she was mostly... just soaking in being, not back home, but somewhere familiar.
Re: Before the Instructions
Suddenly Topher could understand how that badly-programmed spherical thing from Parents' Weekend felt. Space!
It kind of just looked like a regular room, which meant that Topher was even twitchier than usual as he tried to take in every little thing about this place and figure out all the technologically advanced things about it.
Re: Before the Instructions
This was going to be way better than that.

Re: Before the Instructions
Yeul looked, in contrast to some people, quietly serene as she patiently waited.

Re: Before the Instructions
Finally, a technology level and alien mix that reminded her of home.
Re: Before the Instructions
It wasn't anything wrong, exactly. Werewolf senses simply didn't like radically changed environments. Until he got used to the Citadel, the trip for him would be a festival of overwhelming sensory noise.
He was excited despite all that. He wasn't sure why the school was letting him come along -- he suspected Kaidan's hand at work -- but he intended to enjoy himself.

Re: The Major Arrives - Instructions
... Of course he hadn't left home without it. The last school trip they'd been on, one of his students had nearly been eaten by a bloody leopard.

Re: Pass Through the Door
He was silently thanking Jubilee for all of the drills she'd run the New Warriors through, dismantling their tech and putting it back together, without tools, in the dark. It made the whole process that much easier.
Re: Pass Through the Door
Zakera Ward
Or you could just stand around and stare at the aliens, or at the vast expanse of space outside, large skyscrapers jutting out, ships flying past...
Re: Zakera Ward
...Just as soon as he managed to find a place around here that would exchange some currency for him. It might be a while. In the meantime, with the hyperactive way he was darting around the Zakera Ward, it was only a matter of time until he wound up colliding with a krogan or something, and that would be very bad.
Re: Zakera Ward
Jono was going to just keep telling himself that. He already had Joni, and the frogs that lived in the tank in the Boards lobby to look after. A fish would be pushing it.
But he'd stand around and watch them for a while. That much, he was completely allowing himself to do. It beat letting himself get too overwhelmed by the view outside, and he wasn't the sort to do much staring at people who looked different than he was used to. Obviously.
Re: Zakera Ward
He'd get over it and after that he'd buy a toothbrush. Because, yes, he forgot his.
Re: Zakera Ward
Re: Zakera Ward
Re: Zakera Ward
And then he wandered over to the aquarium, wondering if he could keep a fish alive until he got it home. He wasn't sure, but the temptation was very real.

Re: Zakera Ward
It wasn't exactly SPACE SPAAAAACE OMG I'M IN SPAAAACE because she'd been in space before -- but this was no Iceworld, and frankly only an expert would be able to tell the difference between SPAAAAAAACE SPACE ACTUAL NON-BORING SPACE WHERE I'M NOT A SODDING WAITRESS and the other one, if they judged by the expression on her face.
OOC
No, nobody's going to insist this is their favorite store on the Citadel.
Yet.
