Spa at the Monastery [St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador, Monday Evening]

Monday evening in the oldest (English) city in North America was crisp and... not all that clear, actually, with a light rain drizzling down. Lucky for the residents of Fandom, there was plenty to do inside where they could be nice and warm and dry. Like that rather expansive Thanksgiving feast being prepared in the Abbey Restaurant.

After lunch at the restaurant, dinner at the Thanksgiving table, and plenty of ale and wine to wash both down, Tyrion finally toddled up to his room and sprawled out on a bed, almost totally satisfied.

He didn't know where exactly he was. He wasn't quite sure what he'd been giving thanks for. But St. John was certainly a hospitable place to spend some time.

Lucrezia had eaten a lovely meal, and was now retired to her room. She had found a lovely tome to peruse, by the dim evening light, and a chair in which to curl up whilst reading.

"I don't think I've eaten so much since my wedding feast," Dany murmured as she stumbled through the door, flopping ungracefully onto her bed.

Hercules had not gotten a chance to enjoy the room during the rest of the day, and after the delicious feast of Thanksgiving he'd come back to collapse onto his bed and relax. Shirtless. As you do.

Ender was not even remotely a foodie, but this was a ritual he'd never really been a part of - not in the US nor anywhere else - and so it was both curiosity and hunger that drove him to the restaurant.

He took a seat. He didn't exactly try a bit of everything -- he sipped his glass of milk and took just enough to be polite and didn't eat it all -- but he did keep his eyes open and observed how other people went about it.

After the disappointing turn of events at the store, Natalie had spent some time just walking on her own, but she returned to the hotel in time for the feast. It was Thanksgiving, after all. It was a thing to acknowledge.

It was still doing very little to change how she was feeling. Regardless, she was there by the table, picking at the food on her plate.

Sam thought about going out but it was chilly and he didn't know when he'd experience an authentic Canadian Thanksgiving again so he decided to stay in.

Dressed comfortably, he found a seat at the table and started getting a few things to try. He avoided the meat but made attempts to try almost everything else.

Toby was gonna give the Jiggs dinner a pass, thank you, but everything else was getting heaped on his plate. This was markedly different from the really kind of pathetic Thanksgiving dinners he'd had in the past, so he was gonna make the most of it.

Rilla took a small sample of everything (and two slices of sugar pie, hush), and sat down, stared at her plate, and was completely overwhelmed with homesickness.

Hopefully no one would notice a tear or two falling into the pissaladière.

Annie figured that unless things improved back home before November, this was the only Thanksgiving she was getting this year. Plus it gave her a good chance to see if this was any different than real Thanksgiving.

Of course some of the food looked a little strange to her, so she was just going to try the stuff she already knew.

Did anyone really expect Chuck to be anywhere else tonight? It wasn't pizza, but it was almost better.

Some of it was a bit weird, but he was trying everything, including the Jiggs dinner a lot of people seemed to be avoiding. What could be so bad about it?

It definitely seemed weird to be eating Thanksgiving food in October, but it all looked so good that Billy wasn't going to complain. He figured that being in a different country, even if it wasn't really that different, meant following their holidays, and when that meant getting to sit down with a plate of food, he was all for it.

After a long, relaxing bath, Quinn drifted down to the banquet and took a small sample of almost everything on display. It wasn't as good as real Thanksgiving, but it was better than the can of soup she'd probably be eating back on the island.

Besides, it was nice to get two Thanksgivings: One for Fandom people, one for her actual blood relatives.

Tara wasn't really in the mood for a full Thanksgiving dinner, so her meal was centered on pie, pie, and stuffing.

In other words, the really important things.

She glanced about the table, pleased to see so many people had come on the trip.

Hank checked the date on his wrist communicator in confusion -- yep, it was still October. Not even Halloween yet.

He considered flagging someone down, but decided against it. They had to KNOW they were celebrating Thanksgiving on the wrong day, right?

Downtown St. John's - Along George Street

There was, as it happened, a backpack-toting girl from Fandom wandering along George Street to take in the local variety of nightlife. Not to participate in it -- just to see.

If, you know . . . anything happened.

It probably wouldn't do to have one of the masked nighttime vigilantes from Fandom conveniently turn up on the trip too, so she'd avoid that kind of notice if possible, but just in case anything, well, went on? That was what the backpack was for.

Mostly, though, Stephanie found the whole thing kind of charming in comparison with what passed for nightlife in Gotham. And was earwormed, dammit.

Hanna wandered downtown mostly to look for places to shop. She didn't expect to find so many pubs all in one area. She stood outside, listening to the sounds of music drifting from one of them. This was so cool.

Like Bruce would do anything but see the nightlife the first night (especially when it was during a holiday usually spent with family). He wanted to get a real feel for what people around here were like. And if he could make a name for himself by paying for a couple rounds, well, that was just part of being Bruce Wayne. And if he needed a good fake ID to sell that he was 19, well, he knew a thing or two about very convincing fake IDs.

As long as he wasn't actually drinking himself, it was slightly justifiable from a legal point of view.
