Rorikstead, Skyrim, Monday Morning

Now that the sun is out, the temperatures in Rorikstead have picked up - now they hang somewhere around the freezing point, not below it. The Nords are out in the village already, wearing short-sleeved shirts and dresses as they go about their business.

The sunlight also shows the extent of the problems the dragon has caused: several homes are missing walls or have singed or partially-burned roofs. Plenty of work to do. Get a hearty breakfast and get cracking!

Frostfruit Inn - Rooms

The rooms of Frostfruit Inn are sparse, containing twin beds for the students and queen-sized beds for the adults who requested them, a table and a dresser. Each room also contains a bowl of local fruits and vegetables, and is lit by wall sconces made ofgoat horn. Bathrooms... ...well, there's the communal hole-in-the-ground which is, mercifully, within the Inn itself. '

Liara had less trouble adjusting than she had anticipated. There was something about this... being so far away from most... that sat well with her.

Unfortunately, she had forgotten what having a roommate was like.

So she was sitting on her bed now, reading a book on Mayan archaeology she'd picked up, trying to stick to her own little bubble.

When she woke up and realized it was Monday, the first thing Kitty did was check to make sure that yep, she was totally female again.

Yaaaay! Now to deal with the problem of not wanting to get out of bed where it was warm.

When Kira woke up, things felt so much better, and when she ran a hand down her body to check, she let out an excited squeal.

It was still cold when Eleanor awoke; she wriggled closer to the body next to her with a contented sigh. She had been taller, the night before, so despite Joker's reassurances about them sleeping back-to-back, she'd ended up as the big spoon to his little.

She was a little shorter, now, and softer, but still tall enough to be the bigger spoon. None of this mattered as much as falling back asleep as quickly as possible.

The tubs aren't set up strictly within the inn, but right outside, at the back, where weaved dividers shield them from outside view. There's five of them, and Mralki is doing his best to keep each one filled with hot water while the majority of the Fandomites are at the inn.

If he's not here, you might have to go find him, though, as hot water doesn't hold forever at these temperatures. At least there are some fires nearby, to keep both you and the spare bathwater warm.

Barry had spent part of last evening making arrangements with a vendor back home which included overnight delivery to a specific location on the island of two large packages.

Barry had then spent the rest of the night modifying the equipment he did have to create a portal to said specific location.

"If I get burned at the stake for being a witch I'm so haunting Joker for the rest of his fucking life," Barry grumbled as he pressed a button on his tablet.

A rip in the fabric of space in time opened up with a loud "THPPPT". And from this make-shift portal came two large Porta-Potties which thudded onto the ground. And since these were top of the line models they actually flushed and had heaters inside.

And also plenty of toilet paper.

Barry let out a satisfied grunt and started working on setting up his solar power generator so the heaters could work.

Gwen really missed showers already, but she figured okay, she could do this. It'd just be like a jacuzzi in winter, right? Not that she'd ever been in a jacuzzi but she'd seen it in commercials.

So she got all prepared to do this, and dipped her finger into the water, and was so glad she did because it was just cold enough to make her say "Nope!" out loud and walk off.

Joker was all ready for his bath... but he stopped and stared at the tub.

"Oh. Crap."

Someone hadn't realized that bathtubs changed shape during the twentieth century. The sides of this one were too high and the tub was too short and narrow, and there was NO RIM to speak of. Nowhere to sit while he took off his leg braces, and no good place to put his hands while lowering himself in. "This... this is gonna suck."

Frostfruit Inn - Common Room

The large common room is the heart of Frostfruit Inn. On one side sits a bar, where you can order drinks and local delicacies from Mralki. There is a large fire pit at the center of the common room to keep everyone warm, while tables and chairs line the walls of the remaining real estate.

Nathan knew he'd spend most of the day outside but he couldn't help but stop in the common room and enjoy some fruit before heading out. While being inside wasn't his first choice, this place was different. It was warm and quiet and cozy. He could deal with it.

Rorikstead - The Work

Today's job is the roughest of the lot: a chunk has been taken out of the Cowflop Farm farmhouse. Fandomites will be spending the morning helping one burly Nord fix the house's frame, then stacking up heavy stone bricks to make up for the walls that have been knocked down. Parts of the old framing have been scorched down to the core, so be careful.

Atton was pretty quiet today. The work was pretty mindless, and he'd have complained about it any other day but today-- today he welcomed it.

Didn't exactly want to be tempted to dump his poodoo on anyone, so lugging stones from one side to the other seemed about his speed.

Mara could do this a lot more easily than she was actually showing, but dropping the stone on her foot had been completely an accident.

"Sithspit!" she yelped, hopping around with her leg up in the air.

In need of a break from all the work? You could go shopping. This travelling salesman offers the finest of handmade Nord fashions, at least in Whiterun Hold, if that's more to your liking.

For some measure of 'finest'. Don't actually expect anything embroidered or made of fine fabrics here.

Outside Rorikstead - Wander the Countryside

If your part of the work is done, or you're simply not working, you could always go for a stroll. There's a broad expanse of tundra right around the small town that offers a nice view for anyone who might want to wander around. Beautiful flowers stick up from the grasses and if you walk for long enough, there's a small brook or the foot of the mountains to stare up at.

Outside Rorikstead - Adventuring

Not interested in helping, walking or shopping? Well, there's plenty out there for you to poke at with sticks, as per the fine Nord tradition of adventuring. You could pick a fight with the Forsworn at Serpent's Bluff Redoubt, or attempt to avoid being used as a baseball by the giants of Talking Stone Camp. And then there's that dragon in the neighborhood*...

* the management advises against going after the dragon. even if you kill it, since you are not the dragonborn, it will return to life the next day.
