Walter expected that Victor would join him eventually in Diagon Alley. In the meantime, he was going to be taking advantage of being on his own to get some shopping done that you couldn't just do on the internet.

His first stop netted him a carefully packaged box with an astronomical model (http://www.hp-lexicon.org/magic/devices/devices-a.html#astronomical_models) inside. He also picked up a wizard's chess set (http://www.hp-lexicon.org/magic/devices/devices_a-g.html#chess_set) for Alfred, a model dragon (http://www.hp-lexicon.org/magic/devices/devices-d.html#dragon_model) for Victor, a fanged frisbee (http://www.hp-lexicon.org/magic/devices/devices-f.html#Frisbee_Fanged) for Pup, a pocket sneakoscope (http://www.hp-lexicon.org/magic/devices/devices_n-r.html#Pocket_Sneakoscope) for himself, three decks of self-shuffling playing cards (http://www.hp-lexicon.org/magic/devices/devices_s-z.html#cards), and a nose-biting teacup (http://www.hp-lexicon.org/magic/devices/devices-t.html#Teacup_Nose-Biting).

There were a bunch of things there that seemed really exciting, but wouldn't work for him. He wondered why he kept hearing the word "muggle."

Nadia didn't have a whole lot of cash, so her main plan was to just wander around and see what there was to see.

Which, it seemed, was a lot.

She did spend quite awhile outside what looked like a sporting goods store wondering what the heck "quiddich" was.

Angela? So not touching anything here.

Okay. Maybe a little. Cautiously, she opens a jar of foul-smelling herbs and sniffs the inside, making a face as she does.

Rory eyed the shop as she entered, wrinkling her nose. "Okay, ew."

Jaye wonders if she can throw something on someone and see what they turn into.

Elizabeth eyes the apothecary cautiously, before stepping in. She wasn't squeamish normally, but this place gave her the creeps.

Zero came out of Knockturn Alley looking slightly haggard, with a miniature giraffe following her. She headed straight for the ice cream parlor. After that, she needed chocolate. "Right," she asked the Parker-giraffe. "What do you want?"

Pippi buys a copy of "Magical Water Plants of the Mediterranean" for her very own.

Books are books. From whichever world. So it's hardly surprising that Elizabeth is almost immediately drawn there, and spends far too long wandering around there, looking at things in amazement.

Zero entered Gringott's and headed straight for the money-changing counter. The trick to this sort of thing, she'd found, was to pretend you knew what you were doing. And if they were heading somewhere shady, they'd probably have to pay in cold hard cash.

After his first go at paying in pounds, Walter stopped here to have some of his money converted to gold.

Someplace smack dab in the middle of London that didn't take pounds. Maybe this wasn't his universe either.

Pip stopped in to change his money for wizarding currency.

He was completely unsuprised that British magical peoplehad as much trouble with his accent as British non-magical people. It was nice to have a constant in the world.

Elizabeth had a feeling that they weren't going to take VISA here.

Which, considering the trip so far, her VISA was probably thankful for.

As this place seemed to be the only place she could get money changed (which at least cut down on looking for the best exchange rate, she supposed), she headed there first.

She had no idea how much she was going to need here, but she could always change it back to sterling or even come and change more.

When she was handed her bag of coins, she tried not to sigh. Plastic was so much easier.

After getting his *handwave* money exchanged, Marty went a little wild at the Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes. What a great novelty store!

He picked up about five fake magic wands, several boxes of the deluxe selection of Weasleys' Wild-Fire Whiz-Bangs and a couple boxes each of the Canary Creams, Fever Fudge, Fainting Fancy, Nosebleed Nougat, Skiving Snackbox and the Ton-Tongue Toffees. Weird names, but hey... candy is candy right?

It seemed a little expensive, but why not?

Nadia shouldn't have taken that left turn at Albuquerque not that her character would even get that joke.

She'd somehow managed to lose the "main strip" of Diagon Alley and end up somewhere a lot . . . creepier.

She shoved her hands in her pocket and turned slowly, taking in the place, her curiosity overcoming some of her common sense.

A quick look around couldn't hurt.
