Atlantis Resort - Wednesday [Rooms & Activities]

As the sun rose over the Bahamas, it brought with it all the signs of rain...

Oh, who are we kidding? It was another warm and sunny day here at Atlantis, and with everything at the resort reset and ready, all that was needed were guests ready to go out and have an amazing day.

Kate pushed herself up to sitting and crossed her legs. He wasn't going to kick sand into her lap, was he? "I haven't even been out long enough for the sun to have that kind of an effect."

"You're ruining my excuse here, Kate," he said, mock shock on his face. "Don't do that. I need an excuse to kick sand on you."

He was, apparently, five today.

Just today?

"No you don't," she said with a shake of her head. "You don't need to kick sand on me at all. Why do you want to do that?"

"Because it's vacation?" he tried, shrugging. "I can get away with things like that?"

"I know where you live, back ho-- back in Fandom." Whether Fandom was home was a different conversation entirely. "People remember things even after vacations, you know."

"I could get you rip roaring drunk and hope you forget," he said, taking a seat beside her. "Besides, the sand's not so bad. It's like nature's sunscreen."

"I like normal sunscreen better, thanks," she snorted. "I'm not opposed to getting me drunk, though."

"Let's get drunk, then," Hannibal said, already trying to flag down a convenient waiter. "I've already got a start on you. Had a few with breakfast because I could. Not that I'm trying to make this a competition or anything."

"A drinking competition between us would have to involve math, anyway," Kate remarked lazily. "I can't drink as much as you. I'm tiny."

Well, at 5'7" she was on the average or tall side for a Fandom chick, but she was skinny.

"Aww, would I kill your poor liver?" he asked, ordering two fruity drinks (because he could sympathize with girls and their love of sweet things) before smirking over at her. "I thought you were made of stronger stuff than that."

"I drink responsibly," she replied haughtily. She wasn't entirely serious, though. "I know my limits."

And then, when the situation called for it, she went straight over those limits, like Sunday evening.

"Limits should go out the door when you're on vacation," he advised sagely. "Enjoying yourself, at least?"

"Well of course," she said, shooting him an amused smirk. "We're in the Bahamas. How could I possibly not enjoy myself?"

Really, she wasn't even sure whether she was actually feeling better, or whether she'd just gotten better at that whole repression thing.

"I dunno but I'm sure there's a way," he said, handing her one of the drinks. "You could have food poisoning and be puking in your room. Or you might have gotten bitten by a jellyfish. That would suck."

"That would definitely suck," she agreed, taking her drink and tasting it before continuing. Mmm, fruity. "But no, I've stayed out of trouble. Could've slept a little better, but other than that..." She shrugged.

"Why aren't you sleeping well?" he asked, curious. "Unfamiliar bed?"

"Something like that," she replied, vaguely. "I don't know, maybe next night will be better."

"I'd offer to let you cuddle up to me but that'd get me in trouble," he joked. "Still, should find someone to cuddle up with. That tends to help me sleep better."

Hannibal paused and made a face. "I don't mean go out and get laid or anything like that. I meant that innocently."

Kate snickered. "No, I think getting laid would work too. Plus it would be double the fun."

"Well, it probably would but I shouldn't be like pushing you to go bang someone," he said, shaking his head. "Makes me feel all pimp like."

"And now you're making it sound like I'd just go screw anyone," she joked. "Gee, thanks, Hannibal."

"That is not what I was getting at!" Hannibal said and pouted at her. "You know what I meant. I meant...not that!"

Kate smirked at him again, sipping her drink. "Yeah, I know. But it's fun to tease you."

"Don't tease me or I'll bury you in the sand and leave you here," he threatened not at all seriously.

"Yeah, because you could so totally do that." By which she meant the exact opposite.
