Well, Anakin wasn't Canadian but his PB was, and so he wasn't really an expert on what had been done correctly or not, but there was wine and good food and he was easily made content.

George had been kind of scarce the first couple of days of this trip. Far too much to see and do to spend any time relaxing on the estate -- or being around at all, really. Traveling in what was essentially The Broken was full of so much new.

Tonight though, since he'd also never actually been to a Canadian Thanksgiving, he decided to stay a little closer to home, and load up a plate with a little bit of everything so he could be sure to know he hadn't missed anything.

Whatever, she was here for the food and was attempting to try a tiny bit of everything. Which was all amazing, and it was really unfair, she decided.

Isaac wasn't going to pass up on Thanksgiving food. Even if it was fake Thanksgiving. Who knows if he'd get to do this when November came along so he was going to take full advantage now. He was pretty much stuffing food in his face.

Alex had never really celebrated Thanksgiving of any kind before, so she made sure to be around for it tonight. She was kind of in the mood to be social, anyway. Plus, the food was good.

If you were outside at the bar to enjoy the sunset, it's only fair to say "eh, screw it" and just stay for dinner, right? Right. Of course, you can also show up a little later and grab a few cocktails with friends, too. It's not like they're carding.

Topher's pitiful attempts at gesturing toward upper-shelf alcohol bottles were probably pretty funny to the English-speaking Italian bartender, which was probably why said bartender was allowing him to proceed with the pathetic display.

Eventually he got a drink placed in front of him. It was lavender, and contained an umbrella.

He had wanted wine.

Go horseback riding through the olive groves or hiking among the grapes. There are a half dozen villages in easy distance of a bike ride or a long walk: great for exploring, shopping, and eating at local restaurants.

Adventures Away From The Estate: Pisa

Pisa's pretty small for a city, but it has a fairly big college, so there's bound to be some trouble fun to be had. You can also go get your picture taken by the leaning tower, though it's closed for tours once the sun sets.

Eating

Head for restaurants known as osterias: basic, welcoming taverns that serve palatable wine and back it up with tasty and filling food. The cuisine in Pisa tends to change with the seasons. The Florentine steak and Tuscan hare are particular favorites, as is boar stew. To do things like the locals, make sure to begin a meal with a ‘primo piatto’ of fish soup or a ‘ribollita’, a thick soup containing beans, vegetables and cabbage. Predictably, the caliber of the wine matches that of the food, and since there’s also wonderful olive oil, cheeses, and cookies on offer, any meal is sure to continue well into the dessert stages. After all, in Pisa (as in Italy as a whole) a meal is a long, drawn-out, and almost sacred, ritual.

Carousing

The Lungarni district and the streets around Piazza Garibaldi are the best places to get an evening started. Budget-friendly, and with a vibrant, friendly atmosphere, the majority of people studying in Pisa both live and go out here, and there are plenty of good bars. There's a cluster of chic (and pricier) cafés on Borgo Stretto ideal for a quiet drink before heading to the river banks for some dinner and wine. Alternatively, the Piazza Cairoli is home to a couple of even classier cocktail dispensing establishments full of locals.

For those looking for a proper night out, the bars and club are, while few and far between, filled with a surprisingly energetic scene. Many of the larger pubs turn into mini clubs as the night wears on, and the friendly locals will be happy to point you in the direction of the best action.

Foucault was having the time of his fuzzy life in the hotel gardens, and Cecil had been assured he wouldn't be eaten or anything, so he had headed out for the lights and bustle of Pisa. It was sort of fun, but he was somewhat hampered by the fact he still looked fourteen.

Not to mention the only Italian he knew were the names of some foods and a couple phrases Big Rico used when he was in a really bad mood. He had a feeling he probably shouldn't say those to anyone here.
