Copacabana Palace, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Thursday - Evening

There was a slight chance of thunderstorms tonight, but when it was still practically 80 outside in February, was a little rain really going to ruin it?

It might even wash some of the glitter away. Well, probably not. No power on Earth was strong enough to wash glitter away. More than half of spring break was over, Fandom. Get out there and make some memories! Or drink-fueled regrets. Rio could accomodate either.

Relax at the pool (http://www.copacabanapalace.com/web/orio/swimming_pool.jsp): The magnificent swimming pool at the Copacabana Palace has long drawn stars and royalty alike to sunbathe, swim and socialize. Everyone from Bruce Wayne to Tony Stark* has been seen soaking up the sun around the Copacabana pool, which is open 24 hours a day.

*This might not actually be true.

Bruce had heard word that he'd been spotted at the pool today. Since he didn't really want people to wonder where he'd been all day while he was punching monkeys, he decided to confirm the rumors by showing up and lounging around.

It was part of why he was creating a playboy image, after all. It was the perfect cover for beating up thieves. Even when you didn't plan for it to be so.

Cara had been avoiding the pool, since it smelt funny and there was a perfectly good ocean nearby, but you know, rumours, had to be checked out. "Have you been here all day?"

Asked miss monopolised the punching bag for two days straight.

"Maybe not all day," Bruce said. "I had to take a break for lunch."

"What, you couldn't get someone to bring you something here?" Cara asked, taking a seat a 'safe' distance away from the water.

Anakin had discovered that if he brought his datapad out to the pool, he could sit in a lounge chair and work without getting looked at too strangely for it.

Thus far his adventures in the city had been . . . much less eventful than he was used to, so working on some programming promised to be a much more satisfying pursuit than any of his other options. (The clubbing had been a disaster.)

He had a drink -- something nonalcoholic but tropical -- and his shoes beside the lounge chair as he sat, bent over the datapad and frowning with his hair falling into his eyes.

Anakin looked up after a moment and grinned sheepishly. "I think we all had to learn that word from someone outside the family."

And lo and behold, there were two wolves creeping up to peer curiously over his shoulder.

Never mind that neither of them would be able to read what was written there, no matter what language and/or alphabetic system was being used.

"Oh, hi." Anakin glanced over, having sensed a familiar presence. "Here to not swim, too?"

It wasn't that he couldn't, but there were more interesting things to do than actually use the pool for its intended purpose.

"Perhaps later," Firekeeper allowed, wrinkling her nose a little at the pool. The chemical smell was still a little off-putting. "Blind Seer complain there is too much sand in his coat. Maybe we wash it off some."

Blind Seer just shot Anakin a look that could only be interpreted as 'aggrieved'. Really, the things he put up with.

"Ben!" Look out, incoming wolftackle. Times two, even.

"I have not seen you in far too long," Firekeeper said in a tone that was halfway between accusing and teasing.

"Hey, Ben. Take any more incriminating videos recently?" Bruce asked.

Being social. It's what helped confirm Bruce's presence at the pool.

So what if they'd spent nearly the whole day at the beach today? Firekeeper and Blind Seer were hanging out at the pool tonight. Go on, you be the one to try to tell them to leave. We dare you.

After a long day if sightseeing around the city, as well as a helicopter tour, Hanna opted to relax by the pool this evening. The bar would still be there tomorrow.

"Hey, Hanna," Bruce said as he made his way over. "This seems like a popular place tonight."

"Hey," Hanna relied, smiling. "Yeah, I guess there's so much to do here, so now everyone's exhausted."

At least that was sort or the case for her.

Anakin glanced over from his lounge chair and offered the girl a distracted wave. "I'm not bothering you, am I?"

IT WAS A PERFECTLY INNOCENT QUESTION, OKAY?

Hanna turned toward where that voice was coming from and immediately froze. What, how, what? Ian Thomas was in Rio? But that was impossible?!

"You..." she said, her eyes growing wide with fear and paranoia. "But....how..."

Sorry Anakin. Major case of mistaken identity here.

Dorothy had enjoyed her late night swim the other day quite a bit, so when she decided to enjoy that quiet serenity again, she was quite surprised to see so many fellow students gathered: warriors and jedi and wolves. "Oh my," Dorothy said in surprise, standing there in her vintage blue gingham swimsuit. "I guess everyone's found out about how nice the pool is at this time."

She smiled, though, because it was company!
