Kohala Coast, Hawaii | Evening | Sunday | February 20
As the sun gave way to the moon, the lights around the Big Island started coming on, brightening up the dark sky. Night falling just meant several new ways for the guests to enjoy themselves! A slight wind ruffled the palm trees but the temperature remained warm, making it comfortable enough to take long walks on the beach or just enjoy gazing up at the clear night sky.
There was still plenty to do, though! Nighttime activities were starting to swing into motion, music was wafting along the breeze, drawing people towards it's rhythmic sounds, and the smells of Hawaiian dishes were prevalent.
It was nighttime in Hawaii and the vacation had just begun!
[OCD is up! Guest Quarters | Resort Activities | Dining | Luana Lounge | Kahakai Bar Oceanfront | OOC This is going up early for maximum play time for all timezones!]

Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
God, this school was awesome.
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
So, when he spotted her, he made his way over to her, drink in hand. And then he took a seat nearby and just looked at her. It wasn't some stalker stare, either, thank you. He looked more amused than anything.
Maybe she didn't think he sucked tonight.
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
Not that this meant she failed to notice his presence. Or that his eyes were actually on her. She swiveled around to send a look back, trying to figure out why he was so very amused. If she was causing that particular stare, Caroline certainly didn't know how and it only took a few moments for her particular brand of paranoia to set in. "What?"
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
"What's what?" Yep, he was just gonna play dumb. Hey, he'd just been enjoying the view she provided. Nothing nefarious about that.
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
Not that she cared what he thought.
"So either I have like, a piece of lei in my hair from earlier or you had something you wanted to say. Which is it?"
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
"I'm not staring, I'm watching," he corrected, shrugging. "And your hair looks fine. So, you been enjoying ignoring me? Working out for you okay?"
He kind of hated it, honestly. Both being ignored and playing out that he was ignoring her. It was hard.
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
"I have not been ignoring you, Nathan," Caroline answered, picking up her drink and taking a suck on the straw as an excuse to look away from him for a second. "If I was, I would not be talking to you now."
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
"So, we should just keep on how we've been going?" Nathan asked, raising his glass to his lips. "Want me to just get up and walk away? I don't have to talk to you."
He just...wanted to talk to her.
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
"So what are we talking about? The weather?"
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
"I don't think I was asking you to tell me what to do," Nathan pointed out, shaking his head. "I think I was asking your opinion on the situation. You seemed to have loads of them on Friday. You use all those up while you were yelling at me?"
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
He made a gesture with his hand like that might stop him from having to admit anymore but he figured the words would be better.
"...make it better."
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
"I came over here, didn't I?" Nathan asked, sounding a little exasperated. "I was having a perfectly good night, sitting by myself and slowly giving myself alcohol poisoning to the point of maybe having to have my stomach pumped, which is always an experience, let me tell you but I came over here instead. I wanted to talk to you."
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
"There. Now I've come to you, too." She set her drink down and offered her hand. "Hi, I'm Caroline Forbes, seventeen, and I totally think you should buy me a drink when this one runs out."
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
So, taking the offered hand, he said, "Nathan Young. A pleasure, Caroline, as always. Have a seat, will you? I think I can make the drink thing happen. You've caught me on a good night where I don't even mind ordering these garishly colored things that look like a rainbow vomited in them. They taste good, yeah?"
Of course, he hadn't let go of her hand while he said that and he was still holding it even if he'd change the grip from handshake to more just...holding. Shut up.
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
This was far better than whatever bitchy, crabby issues they were having.
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
"This better not turn me into some scarf wearing metrosexual, Caroline. I'll be very upset if it does. My entire wardrobe would have to go and then what would I wear? The sheets in the hotel room? A good metrosexual wouldn't be caught dead in those."
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
Nathan had been expecting to scrunch his face up or gag or something at the taste of the fruity drink but really, it didn't taste that bad. It was just sweet and...fruity. You couldn't really go wrong with that, apparently.
"Do I look any different?" he asked, turning towards her. "Any signs of turning into a metrosexual who might need to borrow a scarf? Am I less hot and more...girly gorgeous in a masculine way?"
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
Caroline looked at him playfully as she paused. "And if you ask to check I will smack you." Pay no attention to the fact that half her back was exposed due to the dip in her dress.
Re: Kahakai Bar Oceanfront
"See, no checking needed," he added, smirking at her. "You've a very nice back, Caroline. Not that I doubted it or needed to tell you but since I've just taken a gander, I can add my accolades to the list that I'm sure you've received. Nathan seal of approval."
