Atlantis Resort - Saturday Morning/Afternoon [Adventures]

The morning's rain meant that most of the outside activities had shut down until later in the afternoon, but that didn't mean there wasn't still plenty to do! With only two days left until the end of the week, do you really want to let the weather spoil your time at Atlantis?

"Very cute," Jaime agreed. Except he wasn't looking at the clown fish.
heromaniac: (smile cheery)

"Look look!" She reached over and dragged him closer. "That one is inside the anemone! See? You can just barely see its head and fin? They really do live in them! Just like in that one movie!"
weldedtomyspine: (LOL)

"That is pretty cool," Jaime agreed, finally looking at the fish.
heromaniac: (smile happy eyes closed)

He didn't sound very enthusiastic!

Momoko pointed towards the decorations in the exhibit. "And the walls look like they have ancient writing on them!" Maybe that he'd get excited about? "I wonder what they say! The map says this was a storage chamber, but not what kind of stuff was stored."

"How do they know it was a storage chamber and not something else?" Jaime asked, grinning as he played along. He felt kind of guilty for not telling her, but he'd also feel guilty if he spoiled her fun... tough choice.
heromaniac: (point up)

Re: Marine Habitat | The Dig

[personal profile] heromaniac 2010-03-01 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
"It doesn't say, but they probably had, like, archaeologists and stuff look at it. And there's books, right? About Atlantis, I mean." She looked back up at him and grinned. "Plus it just totally looks like a storage room, right!"
weldedtomyspine: (chortling)

Re: Marine Habitat | The Dig

[personal profile] weldedtomyspine 2010-03-01 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't know," Jaime responded thoughtfully. "Maybe the Atlanteans used different architectures or something... IIt's probably worth being careful about assumptions, right?"
heromaniac: (evil 1)

[personal profile] heromaniac 2010-03-01 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah! Then it's totally possible that all of these exhibits are mislabeled! Like, maybe the seahorses are actually swimming in an ancient royal bathroom or walk-in closet?" The idea was fun to consider but she had faith in the brochure and map.
weldedtomyspine: (such a dork)

Re: Marine Habitat | The Dig

[personal profile] weldedtomyspine 2010-03-01 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
"Exactly. Or maybe this is from a different civilization entirely! I've heard that happens sometimes."
heromaniac: (here i come)

Re: Marine Habitat | The Dig

[personal profile] heromaniac 2010-03-01 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
"They'll totally have to change the name of the whole resort! People would be so upset, finding out that all of their photos are now mislabeled! And the poor management would be so embarrassed."
weldedtomyspine: (lost in thought)

Re: Marine Habitat | The Dig

[personal profile] weldedtomyspine 2010-03-01 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't know. I mean, you'd have, like, collector's items, right? 'Mislabeled dig' stuff, or whatever."
heromaniac: (Lame!)

Re: Marine Habitat | The Dig

[personal profile] heromaniac 2010-03-01 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, yeah, but if you wanted mislabeled dig pictures you could just, like, make them up! People come here to see Atlantis. Oh, and the cute fish, of course!" She pointed back at the clown fish.
weldedtomyspine: (lost in thought)

Re: Marine Habitat | The Dig

[personal profile] weldedtomyspine 2010-03-01 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
"But you couldn't get pictures with all the wrong signs just by labeling them," Jaime countered. "And, besides, I think it'd be okay just to remember the cute stuff, right?"
heromaniac: (Laughter)

Re: Marine Habitat | The Dig

[personal profile] heromaniac 2010-03-01 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
"It's always okay to remember the cute stuff!" She agreed. "Finding cute things is totally the best part of a vacation! Well, besides trips to the beach and to really great restaurants."

She held out her map to him. "Your turn! Where do we go next, Mr Awesome?"
weldedtomyspine: (oh so heroic)

Re: Marine Habitat | The Dig

[personal profile] weldedtomyspine 2010-03-01 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
"How about one of those aforementioned great restaurants?" Jaime suggested with a grin, turning Momoko slightly toward one of the signs pointing to the exit.
heromaniac: (uhm what)

Re: Marine Habitat | The Dig

[personal profile] heromaniac 2010-03-01 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Ahah!" She pretended to resist, because really, Momoko turn down food? "But the fish! And the ruins? So meeeeaaan, Jaime!"
weldedtomyspine: (mildly amused)

Re: Marine Habitat | The Dig

[personal profile] weldedtomyspine 2010-03-01 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Well... you could stay here and wander around, but I'm getting pretty hungry." And he could go for a milkshake or some sort of fruit drink.
heromaniac: (make face tongue)

Re: Marine Habitat | The Dig

[personal profile] heromaniac 2010-03-01 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
"You always threaten to leave me behind, you know that, mister?" She tucked the map into her bag with a grin, then reached to poke him in the side. "I am totally going to have to get some friends who won't leave me behind."
weldedtomyspine: (lost in thought)

Re: Marine Habitat | The Dig

[personal profile] weldedtomyspine 2010-03-01 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Jaime shied away from her poke slightly. "Hey, you know I'd never leave you behind."
heromaniac: (bikini)

Re: Marine Habitat | The Dig

[personal profile] heromaniac 2010-03-01 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
"That is what they all say!" She grinned as they exited the habitat. "So, where are we going, anyway?"
weldedtomyspine: (oh so heroic)

[personal profile] weldedtomyspine 2010-03-01 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Do you have a favorite place?" Jaime asked. "I'm treating, after all."
heromaniac: (eating yay)

Re: Marine Habitat | The Dig

[personal profile] heromaniac 2010-03-01 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
Silly Jaime.

"Oh! Have you tried the Cave Grill yet? It's actually in a cave and it's really cool! Or there's the barbeque place, which is tasty, but not as exciting. Oh! Then there's the one near the temple... uhm... Shark something. And the pizza place, and Bimini Road has a delicious sorbet sampler, but I don't know about the other food. People were smiling, though, so that's usually a good sign."

She continued to rattle off almost every place that served food that was within walking distance of the hotel, including a few that were not usually frequented by tourists.

Stop her at any time.

[personal profile] weldedtomyspine 2010-03-01 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
Jaime decided to operate under a simple theory. The first one she named was her favorite so far, which was why it's first.

"Cave Grill it is, then."
heromaniac: (wind)

Re: Marine Habitat | The Dig

[personal profile] heromaniac 2010-03-01 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
It was just too hard to have a favourite when there was so many food choices and so many places to try! And who knew when she'd ever get a chance to come back?

But yeah, Cave Grill was kind of a favourite. Eating in a cave? Awesome. "If you've been, we can totally go somewhere else! Did you have someplace else in mind?"
weldedtomyspine: (such a dork)

"I haven't been, and eating in a cave does sound pretty awesome."

"What's the best thing there?" She'd probably been more than once already, after all.
