Atlantis Resort - Wednesday [Rooms & Activities]

As the sun rose over the Bahamas, it brought with it all the signs of rain...

Oh, who are we kidding? It was another warm and sunny day here at Atlantis, and with everything at the resort reset and ready, all that was needed were guests ready to go out and have an amazing day.

Hoshi was getting ready for a day at the beach, which meant she was trying to decide which books to put in her beach bag. Sadly, they wouldn't all fit.

Hurley knocked on Hoshi's door around the time he'd told her.

"You decent?" he joked, smiling on the other side of the door.

"Pretty much," said Hoshi, putting the books down and crossing the room to open the door. She was wearing a bikini but using a long sarong knotted at the neck, so she was pretty well covered up.

"I'm just trying to decide which reading material I'm going to have to leave behind," she said. "What do you suggest? French poetry or Russian folk tales? I can't get both of them to fit in my bag."

"Uhhh, folk tales," Hurley said. "Sounds more fun, if you ask me."

He was totally picking at random. He was wearing a different Hawaiian shirt and some swim trunks. With flip-flops, of course.

"I got the blanket." He held it up.

"Great! Then I think we're ready for the beach. And I think the folk tales are more appropriate anyway. I'm not in the mood for love poems," said Hoshi, putting her bag on her shoulder and grabbing her sunglasses.

"Not a fan?" Hurley said, just trying to just... glean some important information. "I would've thought, like, with all the language stuff, poetry would be your sort of thing."

"Oh, I usually enjoy poetry. The translations tend to be much more intricate," said Hoshi. "But I need to be in the mood to enjoy love poetry sometimes, and today just isn't one of those."

"So, you need to be in the mood for love?" Hurley joked. "I have that song stuck in my head now. There's problems with working in a music store, sometimes."

He pointed towards the elevator.

"Shall we go?"

"Please don't earworm me?" asked Hoshi, though she was also grinning. "And I'm all set! Where's the beach?"

"Iiiiii'm in the mood for love," Hurley sing-songed, stating down the hallway. "Siiiimply because it's... this waaaaaay."

Yes, he changed the lyrics to avoid making it sound too mushy.

"Don't make me try to shut you up!" Hoshi warned him, though she was still grinning as she followed.

"What exactly are you going to do?" Hurley said, stopping the song for a moment. "Fuuuunny but when you're neeeeear me," he continued.

"I have my methods," said Hoshi. She also had ear plugs in her bag, if necessary.

"So you're saying you don't like my singing?" Hurley said, hitting the button to call the elevator. "I'm hurt."

He mock-pouted.

"I'm just saying that I've heard some wounded animals that sound a lot better," joked Hoshi as she tapped her foot, waiting for the elevator.

"Wow, Hoshi," Hurley said, as the elevator dinged as it arrived. "Haaaaarsh."

He was loving every minute of this.

"You should know by now that I have a way with words," said Hoshi, stepping into the elevator and hitting the button for the ground floor. "You're probably lucky that I haven't switched to Russian yet."

"What happens when you switch to Russian?" Hurley said, innocent smile on his face. "You spit more?"

"Ask Gunther. I use Russian on him when he gets out of line. It's worked every since that time we tied him up and threw him in a closet," said Hoshi, looking very serious.

"...so now you're threatening to tie me up and throw me in a closet?" Hurley said, humming along with the elevator music. "This is getting kinkier and kinkier."

Hoshi, at a loss for words, simply glared at him.

Fortunately, the trip in the elevator did not last long. "So the beach is this way, I think," said Hoshi as the door opened. The sooner she got away from the elevator music, the better.

"Yep," Hurley said. He was probably a little too amused with himself right now. "And then it's on to sunny skies and soft sand. I, uhhh, brought sunscreen if you need it."

"Thanks, but wouldn't it have made more sense to put the sunscreen on upstairs before we got out here?" asked Hoshi.

"...Well, I mean, if you need to reapply it or anything," Hurley said. "I already got myself covered."

He didn't want to sound dumb around her. "You know?"

"I understand," said Hoshi, nodding. "I already put on my sunscreen before getting dressed. It seemed easier to do that without anything in the way."
