Kellerman's Resort, Tuesday Morning and Afternoon, October 13th

The weather at Kellerman's continued to be favourable, as the autumn sun shone down on the fields and streams of the area. The staff of the resort were busy but happy to help, bustling through the corridors and courtyard.

The boards outside were advertising a white water rafting trip today, for anyone willing to go out and risk the rapids; for the less adventurous, a trip to see the Cascade Falls might just do the trick.

"I do think so. Then of course, everyone lives happily ever after. Although I think there's supposed to be some kind of castle involved," she laughed.

"The school, yes. I suppose we could pretend it was our castle, filled with all kinds of wondrous riches," she grinned.

"And it is! Just not the monetary kind. But I've never been very materialistic in that sense."

"Me neither, really. Although...could I claim the library? That's a different sort of riches," she grinned.

"The library is all yours." Leda said graciously. Then she giggled.

"What's so funny?" she asked, giggling herself.

"Us, dividing up the school. I can't decide which part I want."

"It can be our little secret," she winked. "And for you...hmm. The dorms?" she suggested. "A Faery Princess needs a palace doesn't she?"

"That will work. But I am a generous and benevolent princess, so I'll still let people live there." A nostalgic smile crossed her face. "Castle Pup, mark 2."

"That sounds fine to me," she smiled as they got nearer to the base of the fall. "This is magnificent, isn't it?"

"It's beautiful." Leda agreed, reaching out her other hand to hold it under the cascade.

Eleanor did the same, and shivered. "Wow. It's so cold."

Leda hadn't noticed. "Well, it is October. Another reason not to fall in right? You suppose it's clean enough to drink?"

"I'm sure it is," she replied, thinking that it wasn't likely to have the kinds of things in the water that Leda had described about the rivers in Bordertown.

Leda was sure it didn't either. But there were other things that could be in the water out here in the World. She held her hand under the spray, and brought it to her lips. Mm, clear and cold. Nice. "Tastes okay."

Eleanor held a hand out, catching some water and bringing it to her lips. "It is good," she smiled.

Leda squeezed her hand. "I'm glad you're here. This wouldn't be nearly as much fun by myself."

"Me too," she squeezed back, smiling.

Leda then, somewhat randomly, decided to duck under the bit of spray that she could get to. This was a very strange idea given it was October.

"Mistake!" she cried, pulling back from the water, laughing and sputtering. She'd gotten rather more wet than she'd intended.

"Silly goose," Eleanor laughed as she tried to wipe some of the water off.

Leda's hand brushed hers as she pushed some of the water out of her face. Her other hand held onto the girl's shoulder for balance.

Walking might work, but they just got there. "Maybe first get a bit away from the spray?" Leda suggested, still holding onto her friend's shoulder. "I wonder if they'd object to us building a fire."
