Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine Feet Below Fandom, Friday

They'd handwavily gotten the ladder truck on its wheels, but even with the ladder extended, they'd only been able to confirm that the ceiling was solid.

There'd be no getting out that way.

Which meant Travis was officially out of ideas. So people were just going to have to bear with him while he treated himself to another sad lump day over in the toppled station.

"It's unlikely to last long," Hannibal said. "We could keep trying to get out, or possibly explore this place. How big is it?"

"Travis fell in on Sunday," Stark said. "What is it now? Is it Friday? Is anyone trying to get us out? Does anyone even know we're here? Does anyone know where here is?"

Stark paused, looking around again. "It's big. I don't know. I was walking..." Pacing, he'd been pacing. "But it's dark, a lot of it. Hard to say."

"It is Friday," Hannibal agreed. "So far, nobody knows where we are, unless someone saw us fall."

He looked around, too. "Well, I suppose it couldn't hurt to walk around again. Though I should check my house first and see what the damage is."

"Walking didn't help." Because it had been anxious pacing, maybe.

"Nothing to see." Possibly because it was dark away from the station. Possibly. "No way out. Or in. Except when someone falls."

Hannibal looked Stark over. "Come with me. If the carafe of hot water has survived, I can make tea. And I have scones - lemon lavender."
stykera: (waiting for the worst)

"I don't need..." Or maybe he did. It wouldn't hurt.

"Alright. Thank you."

Stark, in both Hannibal's professional and hobbyist opinion, desperately needed comfort food. Tea and scones was a good start.

"You're very welcome." He looked around as they headed for his house. "Is the fire station the only other building here?"

Hannibal was not wrong. Stark was feeling trapped (because they all were, in fact, trapped down here) and that might help. At least a little.

"I haven't seen anything else. Not yet. But your house wasn't here before. There could be more later." It seemed likely at this point.

"Very likely," Hannibal agreed. He headed back into the house and set Beethoven down; he and the flamingo both followed him closely. The kitchen was a bit of a mess, but miraculously it seemed like nothing was broken, although things were strewn all over.

He picked up the hot water carafe, found the bag of scones, and after a few minutes of hunting, found the tea and a mug. He glanced over to the liquor cabinet. "Sugar, milk, or whiskey?" he offered.

The flamingo was another momentary distraction for Stark. Glittery flamingoes weren't something you saw every day, even in Fandom.

"Plain is fine," he said. He took absurd amounts of sugar in his coffee but tea was fine on its own, usually. And the whiskey seemed best left for another day.
"But thank you."

Hannibal had coffee, too, but that wasn't a thing Stark likely needed right now. He put the tea in to steep and found a plate to put the scone on. How everything had managed not to break was...well, miraculous or Fandom.

"There you are."
