Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine Feet Below Fandom, Friday

They'd handwavily gotten the ladder truck on its wheels, but even with the ladder extended, they'd only been able to confirm that the ceiling was solid.

There'd be no getting out that way.

Which meant Travis was officially out of ideas. So people were just going to have to bear with him while he treated himself to another sad lump day over in the toppled station.

"Okay, so showers," Alexis said, leadingly.

She had makeup in her purse here. She did not have dry shampoo.

Silver had spent three weeks in doldrums and survived it, surely he could manage a few days in a hole. And he wasn't even in charge of anybody this time!

Yes, he'd be sitting over here thinking this would be over by Monday. It was always over by Monday.

Stark hadn't really expected that getting the truck upright would help. He was still disappointed that it hadn't.

The disappointment was mostly overwhelmed by increasing anxiety now that he'd spent 2 nights down here. He was trying to be quiet about it, though. He was just pacing, and occasionally muttering to himself.

"So you're the only other person here not having some kind of crisis or be likely to go off," Alexis noted.

Therefore she was hanging out with him because she was bored.

"This really doesn't seem like the place to have a crisis," he said. "Usually you want clear exits for that sort of thing."

"I guess a lot of people don't get stuck in holes enough to know that."

Weird thing to be judgey about, Alexis.

"This is actually my first time being stuck in a hole," Silver said. "But I have seen a crisis or two in my day."

"Was lost at sea for a couple weeks." That had been on his mind a lot since ending up here. "And helped start a war with England once."

"I've set off a skirmish or two in my day, but lost at sea is new," Alexis considered.

"It was after a hurricane. Doldrums--no wind so we weren't going anywhere," he said. "You don't seem like the type to set off a skirmish."

"It wasn't on purpose or anything. I was being smuggled in the back of a truck over a border and the driver was not as subtle as he thought he was and it led to clashes," she explained.

She was at least not proud of it!

There were just so many questions he had about that.

"Did you actually get across the border?" he asked, figuring that was the simple question to pose.

"Eventually," she said brightly. "So how does this compare to doldrums?"

She was pretty sure that word was part of an expression, or something?

"Well there's food and water, so that's already better," he said. "But if we do run out of food and water I have no idea how we would get more. Last time I killed a shark, and I don't think I'll find any of those here."

"Um, badass," Alexis said, impressed, but had to add, "But also like, save our oceans and everything. If it helps I'm very used to going on cleanses and I'm pretty sure the exploding kid is felt so that should help."

"I suppose that does help, yeah," Silver agreed. "I've found I can make do with alcohol for a long period of time so if a bar falls down here, we're good."

Sometime around midday, a porch fell through a large hole, followed a minute later by a three-story house, tumbling as it went, which finally landed...about 85 degrees upright, one side on top of the porch.

After a moment of silence as things settled, the first noise from it was a strange, loud meow in protest.

Dwight groaned as he emerged from the disheveled pile that was the table and chairs of the breakfast nook.

"Oww, oww, oww," he groaned partly from the rough landing but also from the tiny razor-like claws that were sunk deep into his arm as a terrified kitten clung to him.

"Hannibal!" He called out as he staggered to his feet. "You ok?"
