They'd handwavily gotten the ladder truck on its wheels, but even with the ladder extended, they'd only been able to confirm that the ceiling was solid.
There'd be no getting out that way.
Which meant Travis was officially out of ideas. So people were just going to have to bear with him while he treated himself to another sad lump day over in the toppled station.

"You're very welcome." He looked around as they headed for his house. "Is the fire station the only other building here?"

"I haven't seen anything else. Not yet. But your house wasn't here before. There could be more later." It seemed likely at this point.

He picked up the hot water carafe, found the bag of scones, and after a few minutes of hunting, found the tea and a mug. He glanced over to the liquor cabinet. "Sugar, milk, or whiskey?" he offered.

"Plain is fine," he said. He took absurd amounts of sugar in his coffee but tea was fine on its own, usually. And the whiskey seemed best left for another day.
"But thank you."
