While the other people were considering that they could get ripped off here, GOB knew it was time to do business. He took off his jacket and removed the lining, revealing a selection of Dolex watches. He then set up shop in a convenient spot and tried to look nonchalant.
This guy looked familiar for some reason. GOB couldn't place him, though. For some reason, he couldn't get the words "Doink Doink" out of his head.
"Selling?" GOB asked, shiftily. "Who's selling anything? And what would you be looking for if I were selling something?" There may have been a completely inconspicuous wink. Actuually, no, there wasn't an inconspicuous wink. It was completely conspicuous.
"That store over there," GOB said, pointing randomly at some building. He had no clue what kind of business was there. "Because it's crap. Got this as a gift from my girlfriend. She's an idiot, I dumped her. If you want a good watch, I've got what you need." He opened up his jacket and showed his watch selection.
GOB breathed a sigh of relief when he realized that he at least wouldn't be seeing his parents having sex through a window this time. "Come on! I wasn't even selling anything! I just have a lot of watches! I would have loaned you one!"
GOB paused. He had absolutely no explanation for why his hands would be covered in grease paint. And when there was absolutely no lie to tell, you should probably tell the truth in as vague terms as possible. "Yes?" he said confidently.

Re: Canal Street
A tall man in a bad suit, worn shoes and a plaid tie walked up to GOB and smirked. "What you got to sell, buddy?"

Re: Canal Street
A sly grin crosses the man's face. "This is Canal street. "You tellin' me you don't have any goods to share at a discount?"
Re: Canal Street
Re: Canal Street
The man looked at the watch with mock appreciation. "Niiiiiice. Where would that be?"

Re: Canal Street
"And you're under arrest buddy," the man said while flashing a detectives badge and pushing GOB up against the wall.
Re: Canal Street
Re: Canal Street
The man started frisking GOB down until he noticed something on GOB's hands.
"Is this grease paint? The kinds mimes wear?"
Re: Canal Street
Re: Canal Street
"You wouldn't happen to be the guy who mugged a sullen mime who probably broke the heart of a sweet and innocent girl?"
Re: Canal Street
Re: Canal Street
The man faltered for a second and let GOB go.
"All right! I'm letting you off easy this time because you did the city a public service. But if I see you down here again..."
Re: Canal Street
GOB had a strange suspicion that he knew this guy from somewhere else, though. He could have sworn this guy had a big name or something.
