Toys? Haven't we grown out this yet?

Nadia scanned the store, looking for the rubber balls. She spotted the tower of balls and made a beeline for it. Maybe one or two of these along with the smaller super-balls?

"Now," she mutters softly. "How to get these back home secretly?"

Carrying her bags from Century 21, Veronica gleefully entered the toy store with Weevil.

"Check this place out!" she said, looking around in awe. "Look! A Ferris Wheel! Come on, let's go ride!"

"You crazy if you think I'm getting on that thing."

"Aw come on. Where's your sense of adventure? Look, there's a Monopoly car and an ET car and a Mr. Potato Head car." She giggled. "You know you want to ride in the Barbie car," she teased.

"I have a sense of adventure," Weevil smirked. "I moved to Fandom, didn't I?"

"Good point," Veronica said. "So riding a ferris wheel will be nothing. Come on!" She grabbed his hand and started walking across the store.

"V, I'm really not riding that," Weevil complained as Veronica dragged him toward the ferris wheel.

Veronica ignored his protests and paid for two tickets. "I got you a ticket, so you have to," she said, handing one to him with a grin.

"She's got a point," Parker said, standing next to the wheel, grinning. "Don't be such a spoilsport."

After everyone had their tickets, Veronica dragged Weevil to the line. She handed the tickets to the attendant and they climbed into the Mr. Potato Head car.

"This is going to be great!"

Parker grabbed the next car, a Monopoly one, and shrugged at GOB, who she hadn't really talked to. "Get in, will you? Don't hold up the line!"

"Fine. Geez, you're pushy," he said, his cheery mood from just a moment ago apparently gone. But he was still smiling, which was something.

"It's part of my lack-of-charm," Parker said, checking the seatbelt. "Having fun?"

"Plenty of it. Any trip where you can beat up a mime is a good trip," GOB said wisely.

Okay, maybe it wasn't wise since he just admitted to assault. But he thought it was wise.

Parker's eyes widened. "You beat up a mime? Seriously? Any reason, aside from the mime-ness?" She scooted away from him a little, and checked the catch on the restraint bar.

Hey, you never knew when you might have to kick someone out at five stories.

"He just seemed like the kind of mime who would take sunshine and happiness out of the world," he said seriously. "Also, he's a mime! Who cares if I beat up a mime?"

Weevil was silent as he sat beside Veronica. He'd never admit it, but, he was sort of having a good time. Besides, he didn't mind seeing Veronica so happy.

"You know, it won't kill you to smile," Veronica teased.

"I'm smiling," Weevil said, grinning. This time, it actually wasn't a forced smile.

"Glad you're having a good time." No sarcasm, this time.

"Are you having fun?" she asked sincerely.

"Maybe. A little." That's as much as he would admit to that.

"Good! Are there any stores you want to check out? I got a beautiful dress and shoes at Century 21. I have no idea where I'll wear them though."

Jarod waited for Jenny to get into the car ahead of him. "After you."

Nadia watched everyone pair up and climb onto the ferris wheel. She glanced around to see who else from their group was around, and, not spotting anyone, swallowed a sigh and climbed into a car with her bags.
