Nadia spent much of her last day in London wandering around, and found her way to the Tate Modern.

There was something pleasing about the collections of non-representational art, though the surrealism was a tad disturbing.

And she had no clue why someone would decide massive piles of white box shapes was considered "art".

Marty stepped up behind Nadia and tilted his head. "Why would someone consider that massive piles of white boxes are 'art'?"

Nadia tilted her head one way. Then she tilted it the other. "I think," she said, "that if we knew that we'd understand a lot more about the world in general."

Marty tilted his head in the other direction as well. "Huh. Well if Coach Ash were here? I'm pretty sure he claim this as being 'NOT ART!' and then hit on one of the tour guides."

Marty then began to look at some of the other exhibits. "So what do you think of our little field to England?"

Nadia followed, also peering at the other exhibits. The garden gnome made of cigarettes which probably isn't actually there any more since I saw it in 2002, but whatever was particularly strange. "It's fun. I love getting to break into see new places. And being a boy for a day? Definitely an experience." She shrugged. "It's tiring though. I'll be glad to get back to Fandom."

Having checked it's new location before she set off, Elizabeth made her way to the Portland Gallery (http://www.portlandgallery.com/index.php?page=location). She spent most of her time there in the Vettriano Room (http://www.portlandgallery.com/index.php?page=jackvettriano), noting that there was to be an exhibition of his work April/May time and pouting slightly at it.

"Liz!" Parker wanders in from one of the secondary galleries, and smiles when she sees the other StuCo rep. "God, I haven't seen you at all on this trip."

"Hey, Parker. God, I know!" Elizabeth exclaims. "I know London's a big city, but it's been insane!"

"Plus we've been doing stuff to hopefully help Angel, so I didn't even get to do half the touristy stuff I wanted." Parker grinned. "Want to go taunt the guards (http://community.livejournal.com/fh_trips/7754.html?thread=766026#t766026) with me at Buckingham Palace later? I'm hoping to take the Knight Bus out to Stonehenge with Zero when she's actually awake."

Elizabeth giggled. "That sounds like fun," she said. "I've not made it to the Palace yet. Nor done much shopping. Which will be rectified so soon."

Elizabeth and Parker headed up north from Buckingham Palace (http://community.livejournal.com/fh_trips/7754.html?thread=766026#t766026), looking for food.

"Ooh. I've got it," Elizabeth announced, pulling Parker down Old Park Lane towards the original Hard Rock Cafe (http://www.hardrock.com/locations/cafes/Cafes.aspx?Lc=LOND).

Laughing, Parker said, "Perfect." She took a photo quickly--

"Did you ever think for a moment that we'd not be getting souvenirs?" Elizabeth grinned. "Two, please," she requested to the server, who led them through the tables.

"I think my father's shipping service is getting a bonus this year, with everything I'm sending home," Parker answered her before settling into a booth with a menu. "So did you hit everything you wanted to?"

"See, I decided that I was going to be a good girl and only take home what I could carry," Elizabeth grinned, picking up her own menu. "I've done most things. A lot of this was seeing old places as opposed to the tourist sites. Did the Eye though, which I've never been on before." She pulled a face. "Saw far more of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the US Embassy than I would have liked, but we shan't talk about that now."

"How about you? Asides from searching for this cure for Angel, did you at least get a chance to see some of the places here?"

Fortunately, the Knight Bus goes here, too, and damn fast at that.

Stonehenge (http://www.christiaan.com/stonehenge/index.php) was impressive, from the outside. Parker was a bit put out about the fence around it, though. A lot of the info was familiar from Dr. Pierson's class.

"Hmm. Think we can get closer?"

"Not legally," Rory said, tipping her sunglasses down to get a better look as she sipped her coffee.

Parker took a drink of her coffee too, then pointed out, "You're talking to two people who were escorted from the Happy Land of Ikea for having a pillow fight. The legal thing is only going to stop us if we want it to."

[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com 2006-03-08 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"But this is Stonehenge," Rory said, impassioned. "You can't break into Stonehenge!"

"Legally, schmegally. What are we gonna do, hurt the rocks?" Zero got momentarily distracted by a nearby pasture full of sheep, then turned back to the others and the rocks. "Right. How're we gonna do this?"

Walter led a now shaky Victor to St. James's Park (http://www.royalparks.gov.uk/parks/st_james_park/) and settled him on a bench.

"Why did that take so much out of you? You usually seem fine."

"Usually when I blend, it's against a solid color or pattern. The more details there are, though, the harder it is to shift. What I just did was use my powers to the maximum: constantly shifting so that no matter what angle you look at me, all you see is what's behind me."

He sighed and took a drink of oh so modded water. "I can't keep that up for too long, yet. Plus, when I was filming I had to make sure that the lens wasn't shifted with me, otherwise it'd be blocked by my powers. Plus I ran away as quickly as I could, so altogether I kinda knocked myself out a little."

"When you put it that way, it's even more impressive than just saying you're invisible. That's quite an ability to be able to keep all of those details going at once."

"Well, it kinda just...kicks in, y'know? Like most of the time I don't even have to concentrate. I just will it to happen and my powers lock in on it. At least, that's how it was explained to me." He took another gulp of water and held it in his mough, letitng it slowly trickle down his throat. He had stopped ahkingby now, but he was still feeling a little drained. He put his camcorder away and exchanged it for a granola bar from his messenger bag.

"You want one?" he offered, pulling out another.
