Approaching from the street, everyone checked to make sure their phones were working.

Zero knocked on the door and waited until a man in a suit opened it. Butler, hmm? "Hallo," she said brightly, hiding her sign behind her back for the moment and speaking in a definite British accent. "We're here from People For the Ethical Treatment of the Undead, or PET U. Would you be interested in some literature?"

Blair piped up from behind her, flashing a peace sign. "Would you like to sign our petition against staking?"

The butler stared at Zero and Blair in a butlerish way. "I'm sorry, young people, you seem to be confused. Or perhaps you're lost?"

"No, I think I'm in the right place," Zero said brightly. "Staking is murder!"

"Peace is the answer, sir," Rory said in a slightly dreamy voice, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear. "The undead cannot help who they are. But with our help, we can rise above the petty mistakes of those mortals before us!"

Approaching the back of the House, the combined teams got ready to hopefully circumvent the alarms and staff that might be around.

Pip sidled up to a back door and pulled out his lockpick roll. Unrolling the cloth, he selected a couple of lockpicks and set to work.

He cursed, replaced one of the picks, selected another, and returned to work.

Within a few minutes, the door opened up with a quiet "click". Pip grinned as he stood up and replaced his tools.

"Mesdames et messieurs, bienvenue a chez Roger."

"Chez Wyndam-Pryce, I'd say," Xander said. "Having met the guy's son, I'd guess his dad probably doesn't let anybody but the Queen call him by his first name."

Parker stopped him from going forward when she saw the red line of light going across the next doorway. Stopping and squinting sideways, she saw that there were a series of five lasers going downward horizontally, with the lowest about eighteen inches off the floor. "Whoops. Ideas? Limbo, or shut it off?"

Once they were inside, Team Research started looking for books.

After escaping (http://community.livejournal.com/fh_trips/5680.html?thread=588336#t588336) into the house, Rory wandered into a library and ducked behind some stacks, peering around at the volumes. If that rude butler tried to stop her again, she'd argue that she got lost. "Daisy" was probably clueless enough to do so.

She found one the looked like it was in Greek, one in French, and one in English, sat down where she was and opened the English volume over her crossed knees. And with that, she began to take notes on her omnipresent pad, waiting for the others.

"Not much if it's anything like this one." Xander flipped through the book he'd pulled down from the shelf above Jenny's. Not that he could do more than recognize every fifth word or so if he was lucky, from the number of hours he'd spent sleeping poring over Giles' books, but every little bit helps, right?

"Somehow I don't think curing our dying undead guy's gonna be as easy as one of us saying 'librum incendere' and *poof*--"

*POOF*

Xander's eyes widened (and eyebrows crackled) as flames shot from the pages. He slammed the book shut with a loud bang.

Returning to Headquarters, Parker, Xander, Marty and Pip knocked on the door behind the palm tree again.

"Smooth, Blank," Xander said under his breath. "Andrew," he said, louder, through the door. "Come on, open up; it's Xander. You know me. I'm all not-evil and ...future watchery, apparently." Not that that one really seemed likely to him, but hey, different timelines.

"Okay, remind me to never get you pissed," Victor said, taking a break from running around and scaring servants. He was actually about to throw the globe and one of them when something caught his attention from the wall.

"Oh, cool..a sword! he exclaimed, flicking his tongue up and snatching the weapon from its mount. Yeah, it was probably just a replica, but it looked cool nonetheless. He stuck it to his back, then touched a piece of black marble to shift his skin into it before running around and pretending to be a completely different demon altogether.
