FH School Trip: Hampstead - Town residence of Roger Wyndam-Pryce

Roger probably doesn't pay taxes on his townhome [layout]. Anyone who can call that [photo] a townhome doesn't pay taxes.

The various teams approached as twilight fell, and took their positions.

Marty joins Blair on the floor.

"Hey! Hey! Ho! Ho!
Leave the undead all alone!"

Angela closes her eyes and sits in the lotus postion. "All we are saaaaaying, is give peace a chance..." she sings, alto rising above the boys' chants.

She doesn't know the other lyrics to the song, but she can repeat that one for a long time.

Zero sat down next to Angela, wishing she'd brought her guitar, but she hadn't known she'd have any use for it in England. Oh, well, she could still sing. She syched up with Angela. "All we're saaaaaying, is give peace a chance..."

She doesn't know the other lyrics either.

A very young maid has emerged from the door of the kitchen, eyes wide. Something about her -- maybe it's the second piercing in her ears, or the ink-black cast to her hair -- suggests she is probably not quite what the Wyndam-Pryce's had in mind.

Deliberately, she places the galss she was drying on a side table, then, with a glance to the butler, sits down next to Angela and Zero and joins in the singing.

No, she doesn't know the rest of the words, either.

Marty shuffles over to the butler. "Hey man... listen. You gotta show the undead some love man. They have special needs. Like... they can't go out in the daytime. It's tragic. But I got it all covered man. I'm making a special sun block for them. Out of hemp. Want to try it man?"

The butler just gawks at Marty.

Blair stared at Marty for a second and tried to figure out if he was really stoned or just a very good actor. "That's right Moondoggie...spread the love!"

The butler moved around Marty and walked over to a an intercom. "If the lot of you don't leave right now, I'm going to ring for the police."

"You know what your problem is man? You need to feel the groove!" Marty shouted.

He then engulfed the butler in a big bear hug.

"Feel the love man...."

"Awwww." Blair bounced up and hug-tackled Marty and the butler. "This is how to spread love in the world today. Be the change you want to see in the world! We should really sing kumbaya right now or something."

"meep" said the bulter from beneath Marty and Blair.

Zero turned to the sympathiser maid, who asked, "So, what are we protesting, anyway?"

"We're from PET U, People for the Ethical Treatment of the Undead. Staking is murder," Zero said soberly. "I'm Rainbow."

"I'm Lavendar. I'm so with you, just to stick it to that prat. Wyndham Pryce. What's wrong with the letter i, I ask you?"

"An excellent question, Lavendar. Perhaps we can add 'i' prejudice to our platform. Would you like some literature? Or to sign our petition?" Lavendar made interested noises and started leafing through one of the photocopied pamphlets they'd brought along.

"Stop the prejudice and feel the love!" Marty said holding the Butler tight and pulling him farther away from the intercom. "Dude? Can't you just feel all that inner hostility fading away?"

The Butler gave Marty a scathing look. "Young man, if you don't unhand me right now I will be forced to contact the police.

"Dude," Marty said shaking his head. "You really need to open your heart to life. And the undead."

Blair nodded sagely. "Breathe out hate, breathe in love, man." He hugged tighter. "Breathe out hate, breathe in love. Let it go and cleanse your aura."

Zero's not so good at the New Age stuff, but she's willing to give it a try. "Sir," she said earnestly, her eyes welling with what looked like very real tears, "There's so much hate and deathin the world, why must you persist in your hatred of those who have managed to conquer death? The differently-alive need our support! Think of the Undead-Britons! Think of baby Vladdie!"

"Reach into your heart! Let the sun shine in!"

Marty begins to sing.

"When the mooooooooon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars!"

Blair grins and joins in.

"This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius
The age of Aquarius
Aquarius! Aquarius!"

He did jazz hands too, because you can take the kids out of Fandom; but you can't ever take the Fandom out of the kids.

Zero sang on. But without jazz hands.

"Harmony and understanding
Sympathy and trust abounding
No more falsehoods or derisions
Golden living dreams of visions
Mystic crystal revelation
And the mind's true liberation
Aquarius! Aquarius!"

Blair opened his mouth to continue and then paused. He wasn't quite sure what the rest of the words were. He bounced and started a new song.

"Good Morning Starshine
The earth says "hello"
You twinkle above us
We twinkle below."

It was less jazz hands and more sway.

Zero leaned over and whispered to Blair, "All I got left is 'Anarchy in the UK.' Ideas?"

And just then, Rory emerged from deeper in the house (http://community.livejournal.com/fh_trips/5680.html?thread=620336#t620336), looking a little bulkier. She gave her friends a thumbs up from behind the butler's back, and said, "Thank you so much, sir. Your home is lovely."

She continued as the mad rather rudely began to shove them out the door. "Thank you. Remember to contact your local PETUS chapter to make a donation!"

Blair grinned and bounced out the door, flashing a peace sign. "Work on your breathing, man! And try to meditate sometime. You're like way tense!"

Zero fled after them. "Remember! The undead are people too!"

Angela? Also with the fleeing.

But she's given a button to Lavendar.
