Atlantis Resort - Thursday [Adventures]

Even after five days there was surely something new and different for the guests of Atlantis to experience! With eleven pools and a half dozen lagoons, the water alone offered a new adventure at every turn!

After spending yesterday relaxing, Bod was energized for something a little more adventurous today. Snorkeling the ruins seemed like just the thing for a boy who'd been landlocked for way too long.

And, while the goggles made his hair flop all over the place and left marks on his face, he couldn't have cared less. Later, he'd quietly mope about not being able to tell anyone back home about this but, for now, he was pretty content.

Makita wasn't the strongest swimmer in the world, but she was good enough to manage snorkeling. Besides, there were sharks, and nothing in the world could possibly stop her from trying this.

Robin didn't actually need the snorkel, as he explored and played with the fish.

Getting a chance to swim with the sharks? Absolutely. Karla didn't even care how stupid she looked rigged up to go snorkeling. She had to surface a few times after going too deep and filling her snorkel with water, but even that couldn't stop her from having a great time.

Okay, okay. Finally Griff decided he could give these water rides a try and not just chill on the beach all day. Admittedly, the laziness of the inner-tube rides was kind of nice.

The Abyss

...Jonas had no idea how he'd gotten up here but he was here now. He peered down nervously, holding his innertube against his hip and pondering if he really wanted to do this. It was an awfully long drop and he could scream like a girl when needed.

Turning back now would be embarrassing but...it was really high and Jonas didn't think he'd be faulted if he turned back. Of course, he couldn't make himself go back because he'd fault himself. So, he was doing this. Right. In just a moment.

Claire was having a fantastic time riding the slides but she smiled when she spotted Jonas hesitating at the top of a particularly steep one.

"Hey," she said, waving with her free hand. "Are water slides a new thing for you?"

"Is it that obvious?" Jonas asked, glancing over towards Claire. "They're a slightly new thing."

Where slightly new meant completely new.

Serpent Slide

[identity profile] just-add-starch.livejournal.com 2010-02-25 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
With the nail polish thankfully off his fingers, Fraser felt a little better about venturing out. Venturing out today consisted of attempting one of the more fast paced, adrenaline packed water slides.

Fraser was a cold weather guy. This was all new to him. Everyone in line just better be thankful he hadn't brought his Stetson along with him.

Robin would have stolen it by now, anyway. "Are you wearing enough sunscreen?"

The Current

Clad in a one-piece black swimsuit, Didi drifted along in an inner tube. She laughed like mad when she hit the rapids.

The adrenaline junkie in Kennedy could only be suppressed for so long (like four hours at a time), and her arms and shoulders had pretty much stood up and told her 'hell no' when she contemplated another shot at the climbing wall today. She'd almost given in to the temptation, but decided she'd rather be able to go back to weapons training with functional limbs when they were back in Fandom, thanks.

So today? That meant hitting every single crazy-ass water slide in the park.

She did not at any point scream, thank you, and wasn't it just convenient that you couldn't see her face when she splashed down into the water at the bottom of the Leap of Faith?

Lazy River

[identity profile] joan-notjane.livejournal.com 2010-02-25 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Joan was spending her trip doing utterly lazy things. It was the last spring break of her high school career and she had no desire to spend it doing anything remotely strenuous.

Which was she opted for the Lazy River today.

[identity profile] new-to-liirness.livejournal.com 2010-02-25 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Liir found the whole thing rather curious, that a 'lazy river' was actually very good at sending one around.

"The tubes are all very... bright," he observed.

Naomi decided that she'd give the Water Park a try and go on a few of the rides.

"Eeeeeeeeee!" Holy crap, that was a big drop. Ten stories? Twelve? Awesome!

Dinah was still giggling as she hit the rapids, inner tube nearly flipping her as she hit the flash flood.

Tara took today to tour the lagoon, grinning in amazement at all the colorful fish. It was like she'd walked into Locating Memo.

Mat remembered a few thousand years of history, but had never seen anything like the rays being fed.

It was a memory that he was pleased would be just his own.

The fish were like jewels, Aravis thought. She studied them, going onto her toes and even climbing on ledges to see better. She ignored the small children doing the same and being scolded by their parents. She'd never seen fish like these before.
