Atlantis Resort - Wednesday [Rooms & Activities]

As the sun rose over the Bahamas, it brought with it all the signs of rain...

Oh, who are we kidding? It was another warm and sunny day here at Atlantis, and with everything at the resort reset and ready, all that was needed were guests ready to go out and have an amazing day.

"The snow was definitely getting old," Mat said with a happy sigh, closing his eyes and tipping his head back to let the sun's rays under the brim of his hat.

"Unfortunately, we have to go back to that," Kate said with a less happy sigh. "But spring's going to come eventually, right?"

"Unless it's like home and we're stuck in summer for bloody ever, yes," Mat replied cheerily.

Mat nodded. "I've heard the expression 'hot as hell' since I've been here, and that is rather the idea. The Dark One is breaking free of the prison he'd been locked in since bloody Creation. His control over the weather is just to remind us that he's coming."

He shook his head. "Hardly vacation talk. Have you found the drinks that come in pineapples?"

A whole lot of that went over her head, but she did get the idea that it was bad.

Pineapples and drinks. Those were more her thing. "Seen them, but I haven't tried them. I had a drink that was the freakiest color I've ever seen, though."

"That sounds disturbing," Mat said, leaning forward. "What color was it closest to?"

"Well, actually, it wasn't so much that the color was unidentifiable, because it was... kind of green?" Kate replied. "But it was just so unnatural that it looked like it wasn't meant for drinking."

"I don't drink things that are green," Mat said. "I've just decided that right now."

"I'm not sure that's wise," Kate said. "I mean, it was mostly rum, and it was really good. Just a really weird color."

"Can I get something that's mostly rum and, say, red?" Mat asked.

"I'm sure they could even make you something that has, like, layers of colors," Kate replied. "I doubt red would be a problem."

"Really?" Mat said, eyes lighting up. "Would you like one too?"

"Sure, if you're offering," Kate smirked. "It's important to drink when it's hot, after all."

Mat wandered over to his favorite bartender, gave her the helpful description of "something with lots of colors in it!" and returned with two highball glasses. "She called it a multi-colored Smurf (http://www.mixeddrinkrecipes.net/recipes/display/34937/)," he said. "Parts of it are blue. This might end up being a very bad idea."

"Yeah," Kate said, eyeing the drink with a slight look of apprehension mixed with amusement. "Somehow this looks even less meant-for-drinking than the green one."

"And the umbrella isn't really helping," Mat said, picking the tiny thing out of his drink.

"Okay, that's something I disagree with you about," Kate replied, poking the one in hers with her fingertip. "The umbrella's one of the few things about this thing that's signaling it's a drink." She paused. "Also, it's pretty, which I'm allowed to say because I'm a chick."

"Would you like mine, then?" Mat offered, holding out the umbrella.

"Sure," Kate chuckled, taking the umbrella and sticking it in her glass next to the other one. "Now it's nice and girly."

"And now my blue drink is very manly. And blue," Mat said, laughing and taking a sip. "And sweet."

"Pretty sure the sweet part of it cancels out the manly part," Kate snickered before having a taste. "It's good, though."

"I'm not sure I could order one of these at home without getting chased out of whatever inn I was in," Mat mused, "but it's certainly good for vacations."
