Atlantis Resort - Wednesday [Rooms & Activities]

As the sun rose over the Bahamas, it brought with it all the signs of rain...

Oh, who are we kidding? It was another warm and sunny day here at Atlantis, and with everything at the resort reset and ready, all that was needed were guests ready to go out and have an amazing day.

"Yeah," Kate said, eyeing the drink with a slight look of apprehension mixed with amusement. "Somehow this looks even less meant-for-drinking than the green one."

"And the umbrella isn't really helping," Mat said, picking the tiny thing out of his drink.
vanillajello: (Not really.)

"Okay, that's something I disagree with you about," Kate replied, poking the one in hers with her fingertip. "The umbrella's one of the few things about this thing that's signaling it's a drink." She paused. "Also, it's pretty, which I'm allowed to say because I'm a chick."

"Would you like mine, then?" Mat offered, holding out the umbrella.
vanillajello: (Hah!)

"Sure," Kate chuckled, taking the umbrella and sticking it in her glass next to the other one. "Now it's nice and girly."

"And now my blue drink is very manly. And blue," Mat said, laughing and taking a sip. "And sweet."
vanillajello: (Underaged drinking.)

"Pretty sure the sweet part of it cancels out the manly part," Kate snickered before having a taste. "It's good, though."

"I'm not sure I could order one of these at home without getting chased out of whatever inn I was in," Mat mused, "but it's certainly good for vacations."
vanillajello: (All amused at you.)

"I don't think I would order one of these at home," Kate said. "But vacations are a completely different thing. Getting drunk on weird stuff is almost expected."

"I've never really been on a vacation before," Mat admitted.
vanillajello: (Talking to Ben.)

"A first for everything, huh?" Kate asked, raising an eyebrow. "Liking it so far?"

"There are girls in swimsuits and fruity frozen drinks," Mat said. "And a place to dice. There is nothing to complain of."
vanillajello: (Smiling and about to talk.)

"Sounds pretty ideal to me," Kate replied, sipping her drink. "Except I'm more interested in the shirtless boys, and gambling's not really my thing."

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2010-02-25 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"Gambling pays for my fruity drinks," Mat said with a grin, "and the lifestyle I hope to remain accustomed to. I don't want to be herding sheep ever again."
vanillajello: (Smiling sideways.)

"Oh, right, you're a country boy," Kate smirked, recalling an earlier conversation. "Yeah, I would gamble too if I was you."

"Well, I win a lot," meaning "always", "so that helps," Mat added.
vanillajello: (Big sister knows better.)

"I imagine it would," Kate remarked, a little amused. "Losing a lot would make it kinda pointless."

"I see them in the casino, too," Mat said. "I don't understand them, but I see them."
vanillajello: (Looking up the stairs.)

"It's a vacation thing," Kate shrugged. "Or a gambling problem. Either or."

Re: Atlantis Beach

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2010-02-26 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Gambling problem?" Mat repeated.

It was the first time he'd ever heard of such a thing.
vanillajello: (Talking to T.)

"You know, some people get addicted to it," Kate said. "It becomes a problem."

Re: Atlantis Beach

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2010-02-26 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
"I didn't know that," Mat admitted. Not a lot of addiction talk back in his world, no.
vanillajello: (Smiling sideways.)

"Well, now you do," Kate said, cheerfully. "Glad to be of service."
