Kellerman's Resort, Tuesday Morning and Afternoon, October 13th

The weather at Kellerman's continued to be favourable, as the autumn sun shone down on the fields and streams of the area. The staff of the resort were busy but happy to help, bustling through the corridors and courtyard.

The boards outside were advertising a white water rafting trip today, for anyone willing to go out and risk the rapids; for the less adventurous, a trip to see the Cascade Falls might just do the trick.

"What, would you take bets on how long it'd take me to die?" he asked, slightly bitter and slightly flippant as he moved to take another shot.

"Bets? I never bet on death," she told him, watching with some appreciation. Come on, he was pretty and she was allowed. "Maybe on how close you got to the bottom before a hero swooped in to save you."

"You really think that'd happen?" Alex asked, taking his shot and grinning slightly when he pocketed one of the pool balls. "Sounds like a fairy tale to me. Haven't seen many heroes in my life."

"It's how things work back home," Adora informed him, leaning one hip comfortably against the table. "You call for help and someone comes running. Or flying."

"Very idealistic," he said, taking a moment to appreciate the curve of that hip of hers, yes. "Found that sort of thing happening here?"

"Here there seems to be a lack of people falling off cliffs as they run from large monsters," she said, only slightly disappointed by this fact. "No one dangling from ledges or being carried away by rushing waters."

"Are you wishing for some sort of disaster?" he asked, standing up and deciding to tease a little by circling around the table and brushing by her closer than necessary. "Sounds like you are."

"Oh, don't get me wrong," she told him, not shying away. "I'm happy there's so much safety here. It's just not what I'm used to."

"You know, you could always find something else just as adrenaline filled to occupy yourself," he said, bending down for another shot. "Seems to be no shortage of things to do. I've got my favorites."

"I'm not very proficient at Earth sports. Well, other than basketball." Even if she still didn't see the point in dribbling. "Which do you prefer?"

"The one I prefer isn't an official sport," he said and smirked.

"Oh! Are you a fan of curling?" Adora inquired innocently.

"Curling?" he repeated, making a face. "You're very innocent, aren't you?"

"I'm not so innocent," she assured him. "I've simply never curled."

"I wasn't talking about curling," he said and shook his head. "You seem pretty innocent to me. I think I'd need a demonstration to prove me wrong."

"Oh? Do I detect a challenge in the making?" Adora asked, sculpted eyebrow lifting in amusement.

"If you wanna call it that," Alex said, smirking. "Sure, it's a challenge."

He was very curious, this boy, but Adora had nothing better to do so she planted a hand on her hip and smiled. "And how would I go about proving myself?"

"That's for you to figure out," Alex said, shrugging. "I'm not one to point something like that out. That'd make it too easy."

"So I simply list things until I'm right?" she asked. "That could take a very long time."

"You don't have to stand here and list things," Alex laughed, shaking his head. This one was very innocent. "You can take some time to think about it, if you want. Not like I can leave this mountain."

"And with the lack of danger, there would be no reason to," she smiled.

"And that," he said even if he had vague plans of sneaking off somewhere at least once. "You've got a whole week to prove yourself. Think you can do it?"

"Do you think you'll see me around enough for that?" Adora teased.

"I plan on being around," he said, shrugging a shoulder. "If you see me is dependent on if you're around the interesting places."
