Kellerman's Resort, Tuesday Morning and Afternoon, October 13th

The weather at Kellerman's continued to be favourable, as the autumn sun shone down on the fields and streams of the area. The staff of the resort were busy but happy to help, bustling through the corridors and courtyard.

The boards outside were advertising a white water rafting trip today, for anyone willing to go out and risk the rapids; for the less adventurous, a trip to see the Cascade Falls might just do the trick.

"I think I can safely say," Tahiri allowed with a tiny hint of a smile, "the novelty's worn off now."

Tahiri chuckled. "Oh, well, maybe there's my problem. I never stop to read the instructions."

Which had, yes, gotten her into trouble on multiple occasions.

Or discovered the giant lack of an escape clause in your grand crazy plan. "Is the overcomplicated control panel required in those situations?"

"Which," Tahiri added, "is why it's very easy to mistake them for a requirement."

Tahiri made up a lot of things on the fly. She wasn't always necessarily that good at it, though.

"Would you believe me if I said it's more fun to improvise?" Tahiri rather suspected not. It wasn't true anyway, but when did anybody she knew ever do contingency plans? Or rather, more accurately, the past couple of years had been one huge contingency plan.

That wasn't going so great.
