Kellerman's Resort, Tuesday Morning and Afternoon, October 13th

The weather at Kellerman's continued to be favourable, as the autumn sun shone down on the fields and streams of the area. The staff of the resort were busy but happy to help, bustling through the corridors and courtyard.

The boards outside were advertising a white water rafting trip today, for anyone willing to go out and risk the rapids; for the less adventurous, a trip to see the Cascade Falls might just do the trick.

"Oh neat! I've never seen the Rio Grande. Are you from Texas?"

"El Paso, yeah. It's hot and dry, but nice."

"I'm used to hot and wet. I'm from Florida originally. Though I have spent a lot of time in LA."

"And now you're here," Jaime grinned.

"Yeah! So, do you have any pointers for me?"

"Hold on tight," Jaime laughed. "It's pretty easy to fall out if you're not careful."

"Hold on tight. Got it. Hey is this your first time on the East Coast?"

"Um... yeah." At least officially.

"How do you like it?"

"It's pretty cool," Jaime decided. "What about you?"

"I really like it. I even like winter. Even though I'm not a fan of the cold."

"You even like winter?" Jaime asked with a grin. "Why is that?"

"Sledding, snowball fights, skating, and of course, hot cocoa and Christmas."

"Most of those are new to me," Jaime laughed. "We'll see if I like them as much as you, I suppose."

"Is there Christmas in your world?"

"Yeah, but I'm from the desert. We don't get any of the traditional Christmas weather, you know?"

"Yeah I'm having a hard time picturing snow in the desert. I just asked cause some people might not have it."

"Hey, isn't Siberia technically a desert?" Jaime asked with a grin.

"Is it? I thought it was a tundra."

"Are those mutually exclusive?" Jaime asked. He didn't actually have any idea. He just vaguely recalled having read that you could have snow-covered deserts somewhere...
