Kellerman's Resort, Tuesday Morning and Afternoon, October 13th

The weather at Kellerman's continued to be favourable, as the autumn sun shone down on the fields and streams of the area. The staff of the resort were busy but happy to help, bustling through the corridors and courtyard.

The boards outside were advertising a white water rafting trip today, for anyone willing to go out and risk the rapids; for the less adventurous, a trip to see the Cascade Falls might just do the trick.

"Oh neat! I've never seen the Rio Grande. Are you from Texas?"
weldedtomyspine: (such a dork)

"El Paso, yeah. It's hot and dry, but nice."

"I'm used to hot and wet. I'm from Florida originally. Though I have spent a lot of time in LA."
weldedtomyspine: (mildly amused)

"And now you're here," Jaime grinned.

"Yeah! So, do you have any pointers for me?"
weldedtomyspine: (more than mildly amused)

"Hold on tight," Jaime laughed. "It's pretty easy to fall out if you're not careful."

"Hold on tight. Got it. Hey is this your first time on the East Coast?"
weldedtomyspine: (more than mildly amused)

"Um... yeah." At least officially.

"How do you like it?"
weldedtomyspine: (lost in thought)

[personal profile] weldedtomyspine 2009-10-13 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's pretty cool," Jaime decided. "What about you?"

Re: White Water Rafting

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"I really like it. I even like winter. Even though I'm not a fan of the cold."
weldedtomyspine: (uh oh?)

"You even like winter?" Jaime asked with a grin. "Why is that?"

Re: White Water Rafting

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sledding, snowball fights, skating, and of course, hot cocoa and Christmas."
weldedtomyspine: (lost in thought)

"Most of those are new to me," Jaime laughed. "We'll see if I like them as much as you, I suppose."

"Is there Christmas in your world?"
weldedtomyspine: (embarrassed laughq)

Re: White Water Rafting

[personal profile] weldedtomyspine 2009-10-13 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, but I'm from the desert. We don't get any of the traditional Christmas weather, you know?"

Re: White Water Rafting

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2009-10-14 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah I'm having a hard time picturing snow in the desert. I just asked cause some people might not have it."
weldedtomyspine: (trying hard not to laugh)

"Hey, isn't Siberia technically a desert?" Jaime asked with a grin.

Re: White Water Rafting

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2009-10-14 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Is it? I thought it was a tundra."
weldedtomyspine: (a bit distracted)

Re: White Water Rafting

[personal profile] weldedtomyspine 2009-10-14 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
"Are those mutually exclusive?" Jaime asked. He didn't actually have any idea. He just vaguely recalled having read that you could have snow-covered deserts somewhere...

Re: White Water Rafting

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2009-10-15 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't know. I always thought that deserts were sand and rock."
weldedtomyspine: (lost in thought)

Re: White Water Rafting

[personal profile] weldedtomyspine 2009-10-15 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
"I thought it was just having no precipitation... But climatology was never my field."

Re: White Water Rafting

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2009-10-15 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
"If there's snow doesn't that mean there is precipitation?" Robin had no idea one way or the other.
weldedtomyspine: (uh oh?)

Re: White Water Rafting

[personal profile] weldedtomyspine 2009-10-15 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, yeah, but it rains in the desert, too. It just doesn't have much. And isn't Siberia cold enough that the snow just never melts?"

Re: White Water Rafting

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2009-10-15 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Probably. I bet we could find out online."
