Kellerman's Resort, Tuesday Morning and Afternoon, October 13th

The weather at Kellerman's continued to be favourable, as the autumn sun shone down on the fields and streams of the area. The staff of the resort were busy but happy to help, bustling through the corridors and courtyard.

The boards outside were advertising a white water rafting trip today, for anyone willing to go out and risk the rapids; for the less adventurous, a trip to see the Cascade Falls might just do the trick.

"Woah!" Clark dove after her, holding back from really kicking just enough to be right at her side as he tore through the water.

Okay, so, maybe she wasn't going to win this one-- Clark had a good five inches on her and looked like he'd been lifting cars in his spare time-- but Dinah was going to make him work for it. She stretched out her arms in front of her as far as she could, checking on him only when she took a breath, and tried to speed up even more, legs hitting the water hard.

Also, sometime it would be fun just to watch him. Heh.

It was honestly fun for him to be in a race and not push out the super speed as he kicked through the water. Peeking her direction to keep from getting too much of a lead, Clark remembered he should probably breathe.

That would be good. Dinah's lungs were bursting as she hit the wall, did a flip to push off the wall, and concentrated on her stroke, up, down, slice into the water, keep the elbow bent at the right angle, breathe breathe breathe c'mon! Fun, though, to really push herself this time.

Clark pushed of the wall with both his feet and went shooting out ahead when he finally surfaced to stroke through toward the other side.

Dinah kicked as hard as she could, almost there, almost there, she reached for the edge of the pool--!

Having raced hard, Clark was already at the wall, popping out of the water and shaking it from his hair with a huge grin. "Not a bad race!"

"Not... bad at all," Dinah said, gulping to get her breath back, then laughing. "So you owe me ice cream!" She grinned and held out one hand. "Dinah Lance."

Yeah, there was no getting winded on the big guy's part. Clark shook some water off his hand before taking hers. "Clark Kent. If I didn't think you'd been working hard out there I'd say that's some way to get an ice cream cone."

"Next time," Dinah cheerfully threatened him. "I always play to win. And I was going to buy it to make you feel better if I did, but see, now you're the guy who isn't afraid to beat a girl at something. Much better around this school."

"There a lot of fear of girls here?" Clark asked, showing off his continuing newbieness. "Uh, that might have come out wrong..."

Dinah snickered. "I know what you meant, it's fine. And, yeah. Half of us are really intense, the other half can kick your ass or have superpowers," she said with a grin. "Plus there's some overlap there."

To demonstrate, she stretched her arms over her head, and splashed him with her telekinesis, aiming for his middle, giggling.

Clark stared just a bit while he laughed. "Good stuff to keep in mind as I meet new people, Dinah."

"Yup!" Dinah gave him a cheeky grin back, dropping her arms and wiping water out of her eyes. "So I'll see you for ice cream later, Clark Kent."

"That you will," he promised, very amused by this girl and her strange powers. It was nice not to be the only guy with something else going on.
