The weather was a little cooler and cloudier today, but that just meant it was really time to break out those fashionable hats and scarves!

Okay, maybe only whatever scarves you all brought are fashionable, but some of you are annoying and can make any item of clothing work, so just make sure you're bundled safely. We're only halfway through the week and there's still so much to do!

The chaperones have been randomly assigned suites, and the students have been given courtyard view rooms with two doubles or a king-sized bed depending on what's funnier. Relax, take a bath, order room service--it's vacation!

2 Trudeau 2 Quit Suite

Thor suspected it might be too much to hope that the suite's other occupants would not have noticed the lightning strike inside the other bedroom this morning, but there was nothing to be done about that, and now there was a god of thunder perched on the sofa in the main living area, perusing the room service menu and trying to decide what to order for breakfast.

Get the spiced apples.

"I will be getting the spiced apples," Thor assured his counterpart.

Jon was startled by the lightning, but as long as the sky was still the colour it was supposed to be, he would let it go.

He was wrapped firmly up in a very fluffy robe over his pyjamas and nodded to Thor. "Hello."

Sometimes the sky was supposed to be a deep and ominous green, Jon. That was just nature. Fortunately, this was not one of those times.

Okay, the texts last night from BD were one thing but radio confirmed it!

Kamala stood outside room 615, practically vibrating with excitement. She debated whether to keep bouncing in place like a kid on a sugar rush or go full Kamala-mode and punch the door down with a giant pink and purple fist.

Please don't punch down the door, Kams. Anakin would go apoplectic and Arden wouldn't even be able to blame him for it.

Sadly, though, Arden had been sleeping much later these days than she had before Parents Weekend, so unless Kamala had shown up before Cal had left the room, she might have been waiting out there awhile.

Eventually, though, the hotel room door would open, allowing Our Heroine to bust through and end up inside.

Cal was probably gone but it was definitely worth the wait.

Because, yes that was her bestie springing at her in delight. "I want details! All the details!" she stage-whispered-screamed (It was a hotel hallway people!) as she grabbed for Arden's hands and bounced up and down.

Who needs coffee when you have good news.

For a moment, Arden just blinked at her, a little confused, but then understanding kicked in as sleep retreated. With a laugh, she tugged Kamala inside. "Radio," she said, as this that explained everything. Because it did. "Have you had breakfast yet?"

Because if she was going to dish, she was doing it over room service.

"I have not," Kamala replied, gleefully, as she allowed herself to be pulled into the room. "And it wasn't just radio, BD was sending me text updates. Cal really needs to learn to lock his phone if he doesn't want personal business sent to me. Anyway! Please tell me it's true. That you guys finally admitted you have feelings for each other? I want to hear it from your mouth and not from drunk squirrels or a text."

"I love how it's Cal's fault his droid with free will was texting you," Arden said with a snort.

She snagged the room service menu and handed it to Kamala to decide what she was getting so she could put an order in. "I like how you're saying finally like it's been a worse wait on you than on me," she added, still not actually having confirmed anything yet.

"Hey, I'm not saying it was worse for me. I know that. I've had it good. But the two of you telling each other how you feel? Epic!" Kamala said excitedly as she pulled up her phone, placed her breakfast order through the hotel app, and handed it over to Arden with a grin. "Now, spill it!"

Arden laughed, putting her order in. "Okay, so like...Cal had mentioned wanting to get dinner, and part of me had sorta hoped? Maybe? That it was, like, a thing? But, also, obviously, knew that it absolutely wasn't going to be a thing, that was just wishful thinking on my part. And then we got to the place, and it was a really cute diner, but that made me assume that it was definitely not going to be a thing, because, like...I dunno!" She laughed again. "I guess I don't associate 'cheerful diner' and 'confessions of longheld feelings' together? Or at least I didn't?"

Kamala was going to murder her, but Arden was being super-thorough, okay?

"And we just joked around a bit, figuring out what to order and talking about how shitty our French is and he said something about it going even better than he'd planned. And I was like, 'Planned?' because I thought this was just, like, a winner-dinner thing, you know?"

Kamala had now sprawled out on the bed, lying on her stomach with her chin resting in her hands and her ankles crossed in the air.

"Uh-huh? Uh-uh? And then?"

She didn’t exactly look like she was going to murder anyone. If this were a musical, she’d be singing “Tell Me More” from Grease.

"And he explained that he'd been looking to have some just-us time since the last few weeks have been crazy, and I teased and told him I was surprised that he wanted more time with me, since y'all were both so great and were trapped on the roof with me for weeks, and then he took my hand and told me that he never felt trapped with me and always liked spending time with me and that he hoped I felt the same? And then I had to try not to have like eight heart attacks, obviously."

This was so much better than BD's texts. He's a lovely droid but lacks nuance for a story like this.

"But I was worried that maybe he'd seen some of the times I got really frustrated and upset when I was still recovering because my being cranky wasn't about him, just that I was in pain and aggravated with everything. And he said no, but that he'd thinking about it since everything with Callista and that I was why he didn't go back with Cere and Greez. And I still didn't understand, because I was thinking it was anything but that, and I apologized for keeping him here because he was worried about me...and he was like, 'yeah, obviously I was, but also...' and then he said he liked me. A lot."
