Gotta do 'em all!

The snorkeling around Pemba Island, Zanzibar is nothing else but breathtaking. The untouched coral reefs surrounding the entire island make Pemba one of the top sites in the world. Pemba, Tanzania is the perfect place to start your adventure with one of the healthiest coral reefs in the Indian Ocean, a water temperature averaging at 26ºC and the best visibility of East Africa of 30-40 meters almost every day! This is for those who aren't up for the whole oxygen tank, trauma via fictionally dying of the bends through a Choose Your Own Adventure books in the 1980s, etc.

Sakaki ~~had an icon!~~ had always wanted to go snorkeling, so of course she had to take advanage of getitng the opportunity! Maybe, even, the experience might help give her some insight into the fish at the shelter...and especially her boss! It would kind of be like getting to see the world a little more through his eyes, and that was always something that helped make someone or something far less frightening.

Was it still snorkeling if you weren't using snorkeling equipment? Did Sidon really care?

Ha-ha! Of course not! Technically speaking, he was just kind of swimming all over the ocean while they were there, and every once in a while, seemed to swim over to where the snorkeling wa happening when he noticed groups of his Fandom peope around as that he could enjoy it with them!

Alara had never been snorkelling before but she thought it sounded like it would be a lot of fun and something different to try and so she decided to try and have a go and see what it was like.

Goose knew he could technically just press his ranger badge and he could get his own gills and be able to swim underwater on his own but he decided to do snorkeling the way you were supposed to do it and he found it a rather fascinating experience.

Did Clare know how to swim? Vaguely! The flippers were helping!

Did Clare forget to apply enough sunscreen and was now frying like a sausage? Yup.

At low tide, a sandbank protrudes to offer a walk on the purest white coral sand. The perfect spot to relax on surrounded by azure blue waters. A cooler box of fruits and refreshments is brought along. This is a 10-minute boat ride from the resort on the most northern point of Pemba Island.

This was just incredibly cool, and Astrid was glad she brought herself and a sketchbook and a small pack of her colored pencils with her so she could try to match some of the particular hues of the water when she wasn't just walking the sandbar and marveling a little at all of nature's interesting little eccentries and hidden moment, and digging her toes into the sand, and thinking about just taking root there until the tides come in again and what that would be like, too.

The boat ride had been kind of terrifying but Jo had thought that she could try walking on the sandbank and she had to admit it that it was pretty incredible to walk on and take in the sight of water.

Just because she was afraid of swimming, didn't mean she couldn't appreciate how pretty the water looked.

"Jo." Jon offered her a smile. "I hope you've been enjoying yourself this week."

“Hello Mr. Sims,” Jo said, returning the smile, “I have been quite enjoying myself this week,” she nodded, “Africa has been a rather fascinating experience,” she told him.

"It has been," Jon agreed. "I, um. I hope the water isn't too much."

“It has taken some getting used to,” Jo admitted, “I’m not used to being around so much water but I’ve been able to mostly avoid the different water activities, so it hasn’t been as bad as I thought it would be,”

"It is...a lot," Jon agreed. "But I'm glad you've been able to enjoy yourself. It's certainly very different from London."

Way more sunshine, for one.

The light was just too good not to be taking several dozen selfies with a series of hat changes. Tahani's Instagram followers deserved the best!

This seemed like a lovely way to spend part of the final day here. It was beautiful here, and very different from anywhere Belle had ever been.

This was much more Jon's speed than the snorkeling or spa or anything. The ground was steady, and there were enough land and people about that he didn't feel entirely lost.

And the fruit was good. He'd just be eating some of that and sticking his feet in the water.

Since you had fun with this in Kenya, try it with slightly different species here in the Indian Ocean.

Liz decided to try her hand at birdwatching, which was something that she had never done before and see how many different species she'd be able to spot and what photos she would be able to take of them.

"I do not know how I keep running out of memory on this thing," groused Prompto with a laugh, drifting over toward Liz as he tried to clear up some more space on his camera.

It really was a mystery. Definitely didn't have anything to do with taking a series of about a dozen marginally different angles of all the same birds and about half as many accidental shots of the ground, or anything, surely...

Liz laughed, “I think it might have to be be an unsolved mystery,” she grinned, “I can’t imagine how you keep needing to make more space on your camera,” she said lightly, “it just doesn’t seem possible,”

"I know, right?" asked Prompto, grinning back over at Liz and completely defeating the purpose of having cleared up a little more space by lifting his camera and snapping a few candid shots of her, without even an ounce of apology in his smirk when he finished. "It's not like there's a million absolutely gorgeous and amazing things to take pictures of, or anything!"

And, yes, they had been total dorks about photography all weekend, and, no, he was absolutely not sick of it yet, not in the slightest, thank you.

Liz grinned and brought up her own camera to take a few photos of Prompto in response, “and it totally doesn’t have anything to do with how many photos that have already been taken,” she said with a laugh and oh look there were a couple more photos being taken of Prompto.
