It's another beautiful day at the Manta Resort, located on Pemba Island in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Sadly, it's also your last full day of vacation, so get on up and make the most of it!

UNDERWATER ROOMS

Anchored in an ocean floor anomaly we call the blue hole, the floating underwater rooms top almost anything. Encapsulated within a turquoise blue bubble, watching shoals of reef fish swim by – sometimes in three or four layers of different species--this is a truly heart-stopping experience. The floating structures provides three levels: above the water clad in local hardwood is a lounge, bed and bathrooms underwater, and a stargazing, sun tanning bed on the roof.

THERE ARE FISH RIGHT. THERE. Ahem. Perhaps we're a little excited about these bedrooms, but they're underwater and there are fish riiiiight there.

Lounge/Sunbed

There's also seats to stare out at the water or a sunbed to get gorgeously tanned--or sunburned--just in time to go back to cold, dreary Maryland tomorrow.

Moray Eel Sunbed

For a girl who'd, up until a couple months ago, had never really left her small little corner of Tennessee before, save for the occasional excursion out to Wal-Mart or a celebration breakfast at the local pancake house, this trip had been almost unbelievable. This many days in, Libby still couldn't believe it was entirely real, and was half expecting to wake up back home in her bedroom, with Patience sleeping in the next bed over, as if even Fandom itself had been part of the dream.

But it was also, especially this far in, pretty overwhelming, and even though she'd been able to ride that adreneline and excitement pretty hard, especially since she really, really didn't want to miss anything, by now, she felt, she just needed to take kind of a break.

Thankfully, even taking a break around here, by going up to the sunbed and just looking out over the water and marveling over it all, was also pretty amazing! She just couldn't believe how lucky she'd been, these past few months, but you'd better believe she'd been doing all she could to make sure God knew just how grateful she was for it all, too.

Especially that whole rhino thing. Whew!

Porcelain Crab Sunbed

With no party rooms to pretend-crash in last night, Amaya worried that she might have to start getting really creative or just finally bite the bullet and take her chances on being in a far too luxuriant and comfy room with only one bed and just as many escape routes, but actually? She realized why not just enjoy the nice weather, get comfortable out on the sunbed, and sleep there last night. Maybe the sea air might even help the snoring!

(And, through an unexpected turn of events, it actually did?).

And honestly? It wasn't too bad, and not a bad way to wake up, either, though now she supposed she'd just wait things out until she figured it'd be safe to head down.

Beach

Guillermo decided to take it easy today and decided to spend the day relaxing at the beach, as cool as his room was ... he did have to admit that it was nice to be able to have a break from the gentle rocking.

The entire trip had been amazing and also exhausting. SO Kurt was going to take at least some time that day to relax. And while the whole spa/massage thing wasn't really his style, he did find himself nearly dozing off as he sprawled out in a hammock that was set up between two of the trees.

Food Things

Whether it's enjoying snacks on the elevated terrace or drinks in the lounge, there's incredibly good food and drinks for you to try while you still can.

Ignis was mostly just grateful that he had recovered enough from his hangover yesterday (all thanks to Shane's considerable help, but, well, he supposed what goes around comes around) to OH so handwavily venture out with Zanzibar with Gladio and Prompto, to check out the island and especially visit that night food market, which was an exquisitely inspiational experience, even in his less-than-stellar condition and all the razzing from the others that went along with it. Still, that morning he was feeling quite himself again, which meant being up early enough to enjoy coffee and a light breakfast on the terrace while waiting for Gladio to finish his morning workout and for Prompto to eventually drag himself out of bed for their day strategizing.

Food was always a good thing om a trip, especially when it was so rich and different from what you were used to. Having spent much of his adult life in Maine, Dwight knew seafood.

But this? This was a totally different take on the food he loved thanks to unique dishes and preparations he had never had before.

So he was definitely taking advantage of it on their last full day here at the resort!

Snorkeling

The snorkeling around Pemba Island, Zanzibar is nothing else but breathtaking. The untouched coral reefs surrounding the entire island make Pemba one of the top sites in the world. Pemba, Tanzania is the perfect place to start your adventure with one of the healthiest coral reefs in the Indian Ocean, a water temperature averaging at 26ºC and the best visibility of East Africa of 30-40 meters almost every day! This is for those who aren't up for the whole oxygen tank, trauma via fictionally dying of the bends through a Choose Your Own Adventure books in the 1980s, etc.

Sakaki had an icon! had always wanted to go snorkeling, so of course she had to take advanage of getitng the opportunity! Maybe, even, the experience might help give her some insight into the fish at the shelter...and especially her boss! It would kind of be like getting to see the world a little more through his eyes, and that was always something that helped make someone or something far less frightening.

Was it still snorkeling if you weren't using snorkeling equipment? Did Sidon really care?

Ha-ha! Of course not! Technically speaking, he was just kind of swimming all over the ocean while they were there, and every once in a while, seemed to swim over to where the snorkeling wa happening when he noticed groups of his Fandom peope around as that he could enjoy it with them!

Sandbank Walk

At low tide, a sandbank protrudes to offer a walk on the purest white coral sand. The perfect spot to relax on surrounded by azure blue waters. A cooler box of fruits and refreshments is brought along. This is a 10-minute boat ride from the resort on the most northern point of Pemba Island.

Fishing and Birdwatching
