Manta Resort, Zanzibar [Friday Daytime]

It's another beautiful day at the Manta Resort, located on Pemba Island in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Sadly, it's also your last full day of vacation, so get on up and make the most of it!

Liz decided to try her hand at birdwatching, which was something that she had never done before and see how many different species she'd be able to spot and what photos she would be able to take of them.

"I do not know how I keep running out of memory on this thing," groused Prompto with a laugh, drifting over toward Liz as he tried to clear up some more space on his camera.

It really was a mystery. Definitely didn't have anything to do with taking a series of about a dozen marginally different angles of all the same birds and about half as many accidental shots of the ground, or anything, surely...

Liz laughed, “I think it might have to be be an unsolved mystery,” she grinned, “I can’t imagine how you keep needing to make more space on your camera,” she said lightly, “it just doesn’t seem possible,”

"I know, right?" asked Prompto, grinning back over at Liz and completely defeating the purpose of having cleared up a little more space by lifting his camera and snapping a few candid shots of her, without even an ounce of apology in his smirk when he finished. "It's not like there's a million absolutely gorgeous and amazing things to take pictures of, or anything!"

And, yes, they had been total dorks about photography all weekend, and, no, he was absolutely not sick of it yet, not in the slightest, thank you.

Liz grinned and brought up her own camera to take a few photos of Prompto in response, “and it totally doesn’t have anything to do with how many photos that have already been taken,” she said with a laugh and oh look there were a couple more photos being taken of Prompto.

And, hey, look! Prompto even managed to get a pose or two with those last one, throwing in a peace sign, a smirk, and probably getting caught mid-laugh on the very last one.

"Yeah, no," he agreed, "totally not. I'm gonna have to make sure to get some of all the fish later on, too. Got some really great ones of the other island when we hit up the market there last night, too...."

Liz laughed as she finished taking those photos of Prompto, complete with the poses, “you can never have enough photos fish,” she decided, “I think it’s going to take at least a week to sort through all the photos we’ve taken this past week,”

"At least," Prompto laughed a little. "I wouldn't be surprised if we're still sorting through them until it's time for the next trip."

But, hey! At least it would actually give him something to do while at the shop!

“I don’t think that will be a bad thing,” Liz said with a laugh, “even though knowing us, the store will probably be really busy and we won’t get a chance to go through the photos,”

Yes she knew the odds of them being that busy were rather low and any actual work was probably just going to be paperwork, a lot of paperwork considering they’d been gone for a week.

"And thank you," said Prompto, fixing her with a sarcastic look to fit the overly sarcastic tone, "for pretty much guaranteeing now that I'm going to be swamped all day this Monday. I bet this whole time we've been away, all the gremlins on the island have suddenly picked up a new hobby, so the moment we open..." He lifted an oh-so-accusing finger at her. "And it'll be all your fault."

“Oh no,” Liz raised her hands in mock surrender but a laugh escaped before she could keep up the serious facade, “I forgot about the gremlins, they do seem like the type to want to pursue a photography hobby, don’t they?”

"I mean," said Prompto, letting at least a little chuckle out before maintaining his own Very Serious, Very Dire tone, "just think about it. It'd be insidious. Not only could they bite you and you do gods know what under the influence of their venom, but then they can take photographic evididence of it? They could start a whole gremlin mafia based on the blackmail threats alone!"

“We have to keep an eye on them,” Liz nodded, completely seriously of course, “we wouldn’t want to be responsible for the gremlins starting a blackmailing enterprise because they bought equipment from our store,” a giggle escaped before she could stop it.

Ugh, that giggle was just so unfair, and Prompto needed a moment to just appreciate it and grin adoringly at her before he could add, "Maybe we'll have to put in a No Blackmail contract with any cameras purchased, but I also think that would cut into a lot of potential sales."

“Also the gremlins might start getting suspicious,” Liz nodded, biting her lip to try and stop laughing, “about why we suddenly need to have a no blackmail contract, it might tip them off that we’re onto them,” she couldn't help it, her smile widened before she could stop herself.

"Oh, we'd be a gremlin mafia target in no time," Prompto shook his head gravely, "and good luck trying to explain that one to Broom."

“That might be a hard thing to explain even to him,” Liz agreed, smiling as she nodded, “especially when we try to explain to him how a camera store of all places, has attracted such criminal notoriety in the form of a gremlin mafia,”

"We could try and convince him," Prompto offered, "that it's better the gremlin mafia than dealing the racoons."

Now Liz was actually kind of curious to know the answer herself, "oh?" she tilted her head as she looked at him, "are the racoons even worse than the gremlin mafia?" she couldn't help but wonder.

"I think," Prompto grinned over at Liz, pretty sure most people would think he was totally making things up, but Liz was a Fandomite, too, so he was pretty sure she'd barely even doubt it, "they had, like, some kind of illegal booze operation going on down by the docks at some point, or something like that. I'm also pretty sure raccoons were involved in that whole giant hole thing from last summer, but those might have been different raccoons."

“I definitely don’t remember the racoons ever doing that, even when I was a student,” Liz said with a laugh, “but I suppose it is Fandom at this point I don’t think anything would surprise me,” she paused, “there was a giant hole over the summer?” Liz had managed to not hear about that one.
