Each suite holds four students, two per bedroom. The main communal area at the Star Beds offers a cozy and homely dining room, sitting room and a wooden deck, which is the perfect spot for a sunny breakfast. Guided and hosted by a team of traditional Samburu and Laikipia Maasai Warriors, this cultural experience will most definitely be a memorable one. A large balcony extends out, and the Star Bed can either sit under the thatched roof of the accommodation, or be wheeled out to rest under the night sky.

Each ensuite is designed around the natural features of the hill. The bathroom with solar-heated hot shower and flush toilet has a unique layout in each room. There's also wifi and a roaring fire every night to sit around and tell stories. Or to sit around and upload your amazing photos onto social media and make everyone you know jealous. Or both!

Each hand-crafted four-poster bed is on wheels so you can sleep out under the stars. Or you could keep it under then thatch, but...but...stars! There's either a queen sized bed or two pop-up camping single beds, whichever is funnier for you.

Nice thing about those rollaway beds and having the space all to himself was that Gladio could get him morning work-out on with the view of that sunrise; this was even better than most havens! So he was definitely up bright and early to catch it among his push-ups and sit-ups, squats and burpees, and testing the strength of that thatch for some potential pull-ups.

He figured the awning would be preferred over him just doing them over the side of the balcony, anyway.

For your chatting with suitemates needs. Breakfast can be served in each suite's separate dining area.

Kenya believe it?

Don't want to eat with your roommates? Come eat outside instead. Down by the main lodge, the menu offers a selection from eggs to fruit-topped pancakes. A daily selection of homemade breads, fresh fruit, smoothies, juice and coffee or tea are served, along with your ~~moddable~~ a la carte order from the menu.

It wasn't that Vi didn't want to eat with her roomates, she just felt...weird about room service. A communal eating area was much more familiar.

The food and view were much better than the last one though.

Dwight was quite accustomed to early mornings, but with sunrises like this to watch there was no way he could just sleep it all away. After watching the sky brighten and come to life, and as soon as it was light enough to make his way to the lodge, Dwight was sitting down by the lodge enjoying a hearty breakfast.

With the chocobros scattered to the winds (or, at least, seperate suites) as they were, they had collectively agreed to congregate together at least for breakfast before mapping out their day and deciding whether to stick together or pursue their own individual paths for any given day. And of course Ignis would be the first one down by the main lodge, which suited him just fine, as it gave him a chance to just enjoy his coffee and light breakfast offerings in peace while tapping into some morning news, both local out of pure curiousity and from back home, just to make sure everything was going on just fine back in Insomnia, and there were no major headlines declaring something like 'Prince Found Dead in Apartment, Gallivanting Crownsguard to Blame'.

So far....so good.

It's an infinity pool and if you're lucky, the elephants will come into the valley below it so you can see them.

While the idea of traipsing out to explore something had its appeal, Irene was recovering from something of a shock today. Really, the shock had started -- and endured through -- last night, when she learned that the trumpet of an elephant or the roar of a lion were not the sorts of midnight wakeup calls she ought to have anticipated. Animal calls would have been a lullaby, probably, compared to her bedmate's snoring.

Irene supposed the joke was on her, given that the just one bed situation had turned out so ironically not in her favor that she was surprised Rod Serling wasn't here to ominously narrate about it. But she was tenacious, thank you. She had faked her own death twice. She'd survived untold months in a Pakistani prison. She could take a little snoring.

Or...she could just try to shift around her sleep schedule, too. Which was why today found her on a lounger by the pool, swathed in a La Perla bikini and a big hat, and fast asleep.

(She'd set a timer so she could reapply sun cream, never fear. Dermatological health was even more important than beauty sleep.)

Would you like a massage outside in the bush with giraffe passing by? How about a salt rub for your feet followed by a body polish using orange oil and ground coffee? The lodge is eager to provide pampering.

Hmmm, Cara could go out into the wilderness and therefore be obligated to act responsibly if one of the students tried something stupid with the wildlife.

...oooooooooor Cara could get a massage. Such a hard choice.

Pampering? Yes, please! Alexis had done her hike this morning as she'd said, and now she got to have a honeybush facial as a treat.

Did somoene say body polish? This was where Tahani was going to be living for the next few days, thank you. And if a giraffe wandered by, all the better!

Where can you see lions?

Whether you choose to go out early in the morning or later on in the afternoon, a KPSGA (Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association) qualified guide will take you across the open plains, through the central scrub area or along the river.

As a haven for over 260 bird and 50 mammal species, guests can spend time with towers of endangered reticulated giraffes, herds of elephants and endangered Grevy’s zebra, prides of lions, cheetahs and elusive leopards. African wild dogs, thought for many years to be extinct in the region, are once again being sighted at Loisaba. Try to spot the Kenya’s Northern Five: the Grevy’s zebra, wild dogs, cheetahs, leopards and lions. If you go out on the dawn trip, lunch in the bush will be provided. If you go on the afternoon trip, you get to drink gin and tonics (or just tonic, or juice, or whatever) and watch the sunset.

Libby could barely even sleep last night for her excitement, even with staying up late and watching the stars, so she was definitely able to make it for the early tour, and she'd barely even notice all the bouncing because she felt she was practically vibrating with excitement the whole time, her eyes wide as she didn't want to miss a single thing.

Guillermo had been up extremely early to go on the dawn trip and aside from all the bouncing, he actually thought that this was a great way to be able to see the local wildlife and he was looking around, completely amazed that he was getting to do something like this.
