Normally Friday is a great day, but this week it means the amount of break time is dwindling, so now is your chance to get all the fall break fun in that you can! The weather was still cool and sunny, and there was plenty to do!

HOTEL

We're spending the week at the five-star/five diamond Boston Harbor Hotel. Hotel luxuries include a private health-club style spa and fitness center, award-winning dining, and a full-service 34-slip marina.

ROOMS 10/15

Students' deluxe rooms have windows out over downtown Boston, and their chaperones' premier rooms have views out over the marina and into Boston Harbor. The rooms come equipped with all the amenities and two full beds or one king depending on which is funnier.

Goose was still fast asleep after crashing yesterday and it looked like he hadn’t budged from the spot where he’d first landed on the bed.

After the relaxing swim, Dwight had headed back to the room and was currently flipping through the excessive number of channels trying to find something to watch while waiting for the room service breakfast he ordered to get there.

Since one good turn deserved another, when Amaya returned to the room much later that day to drop off a few of her spoils from the market, she came bearing food.

Because like she could turn away from something called a 'Super Beef', even if it wasn't on a stick! And she had a feeling her roommate would be equally appreciative.

"In case you haven't completely filled up on room service," she offered, lifting the bag with the sandwiches in victory, like a gladiator holding aloft the head of an opponent, "I got plenty."

Dwight turned from the show he had been bingeing for the last few hours, an appreciative smile on his face.

"Oh thanks, room service is ok but they make the prices at these other places seem almost reasonable! Even if the Moose is paying for it, I cant being myself to order much."

Dwight looked at the other bags Amaya was hefting into the room.

"Market had some good deals i take it? Found any good inspiration for projects when we are back home in a couple days?"

Dwight, this was Amaya you were talking to... Of course she had been inspired by something somewhere at least!

Amaya was inspired by the pattern in the carpet in the room, soooooo....

"I don't know about deals," she said, with the wrinkle of the nose of a woman who did not part with her shiny gold coins (or, well, dollars and bills) lightly, "but there was more than enough to catch the eyes. Always had a soft spot for those kinds of markets in these cities. Always a bit more...interesting, I find."

"True. There's been no shortage of things to see. Gave to admit I've gotten a few ideas of my own gere and there" he added with a slight grin.

After all, friendly competition was good for everyone. Dwight had to admit he did enjoy the friendly back and forth they had at times with their projects.

"I look forward to seeing what that brain of yours is cooking up," Amaya said, meeting that grin with one of her own, "and then promptly one-upping you with what I'm working on for myself!"

Because, yes, competition, friendly or otherwise (although, in this case, she was mighty glad it was friendly!) fueled a Blackstone ever better than meats on sticks.

"And hopefully," she added, pulling a container out of the bag to relenquish over to him, "it tastes as good, if not better, than it smells!"

And it had better, what with the price they were asking for it!

"I'm reminded any time I travel to a big city like this exactly why I could never live in a place like this" Dwight said as he took the box and sat down at the table in the room with it.

"Great food and sights and all, but waaaaaay too pricey for my blood. I'd starve in a place like this if I had to pay for everything all the time, because at these prices, I'd be eating like four meals a week tops" he said with a sad shake of the head. "Guess I am too much of a simple country boy for big city life."

"Though" he added as he took a bite of the sandwich and gave an appreciative nod "can always indulge when the opportunity is right."

The simple country boy comment got an appreciative grin out of Amaya, as she settled in the other chair at the table with her own sandwich. "Guess not everywhere can be like Fandom," she noted, "when even when you do order out, you usually get more than enough to last you the week, even if you didn't order it!"

This place certainly did not do that; she'd checked.

"Then again," she added thoughtfully as she took a big bite, "not really anywhere that's like Fandom, when you get right down to it."

Room 703

"Did you know they have pancakes?" Faye asked from where she was perusing the room service menu in bed.

That was where she'd be eating these pancakes, too, if anyone was curious. In the bed. It was vacation.

"Did you want some? They sounded good."

Breakfast in bed seemed very indulgent and like a lovely idea, actually. He hadn't ever tried it.

"The school's paying for everything, right?" And was Faye sort of just mentally treating that as 'Anakin is personally footing the bill for every extravagance'? Maybe a little. "Yeah, we should get pancakes. And coffee. And all the juices."

A juice flight, perhaps!

"I think they are," Stark said, a little uncertainly. "If they aren't I think I'll be able to manage one breakfast."

Even with all the juices it probably wouldn't bankrupt him.

"We can split it," Faye decided, though she was also totally gonna charge it to the room and see what happened. Forgiveness, not permission. "You should teach in the spring, too, this is great."

Other people were probably charging so much more to their rooms than one room service breakfast.

"I might teach again. If they let me do something I know enough to teach about. I'll have to think about it. But this..." Stark paused to look around the room, then back at Faye. "Yes, this is great. Very much worth the class. I would like to do it again. A trip with you, I mean."

He would be thrilled to have another vacation opportunity with her. Just in case that hadn't been obvious.

"We could just take a trip without it being the school's thing," Faye pointed out, smiling and setting the room service menu aside so she could lean over to kiss him. "There's so much of Earth neither of us has ever seen."

Though, granted, a whole lot of Earth was made up of stuff that Faye would have no interest in. Mountains. Rainforests. Snow.

Stark smiled into that kiss and moved himself closer to get on the bed.

"There is a lot to see. Since I haven't traveled much before. I was always nervous..."

He still was, often, but it got a little easier every time he went somewhere without serious incident.

"I'd like that. Very much. Maybe somewhere warm, when it gets cold again."

Snow wouldn't be so bad if it were viewed through the window of some nice, warm lodging. It was pretty if you didn't have to be out in it. But somewhere warm would be better.

FOOD 10/15

Well, you definitely won't starve this week, even if you never leave the hotel. Rowes Wharf Sea Grille offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner with both indoor and outdoor seating. Its afternoon tea is also extremely popular. You can also go for drinks and snacks at the Rowes Wharf Bar starting at 4pm. Or you can stay up in your room and order in.

At some point in the afternoon Goose finally woke up and felt the all too familiar lingering effects of a sugar hit. He decided to eventually drag himself downstairs to eat something and settled on a lobster roll. He was definitely going to be avoiding anything super sugary for the rest of the day.

AMENITIES 10/15

Whether its the 60-foot lap pool, the Pelaton bikes and yoga classes you're all dying to try out, or the spa, the hotel has your fitness needs covered. The gym is open 24 hours, which is very helpful for you insomniac health nuts.

Re: Early Morning at the Pool

Dwight was up early again that morning. Rooming with Amaya had been pretty good so far, and she was a lot of fun to hang out with on the various tours and what not. But the snoring. Dwight figured he'd be able to sleep through just about anything after all his time in the military and camping and dealing with all kinds of noise and less than ideal sleeping conditions. But that snoring got pretty bad at times.... how someone her size could snore like that was a mystery.

And so there was Dwight, diving into the pool and enjoying some laps. He wasn't even pushing himself or swimming that hard. He was more interested in just enjoying being in the water as he reminded himself to start swimming more often again once they were back home.

Gym - Early Morning

As she had done so all week Alara was back at the gym in the early morning and going through what had become her normal workout routine. She was actually pretty amazed that the equipment was still holding up to her strength.

Gym - Early Morning - 10/15

Proud gym rat, reporting for duty! Perhaps that was one good thing about one of their team still being a baby, no pub crawl meant that Gladio could hit the gym just as hard and effectively as he had for the entirety of the week so far, although, really, he probably would have been fine even if he had been drinking, it took a lot of beer to really get through his system.

Wine, on the other hand, well, that would have probably just made him sleepy.
