Boston, Massachusetts [Friday Daytime]
Normally Friday is a great day, but this week it means the amount of break time is dwindling, so now is your chance to get all the fall break fun in that you can! The weather was still cool and sunny, and there was plenty to do!
Re: Room 711
Despite having considered exactly that earlier that day.
But now she knew about Etsy.
"Granted," she added, "the free trips like these ones help, too!"
Re: Room 711
Cus ya know... staying around in a town you don't like resisting the urge to absolutely murder the people who killed your daughter.... that's probably a good incentive to settle down and start over wherever you could start putting down anything resembling roots.
"And you better not be thinking about leaving anytime soon, Amaya" Dwight said with a somewhat concerned look. "Who've gonna make sure I don't get rusty and lazy over at the shop and give me a good kick in the pants now and then to keep me competitive and productive?" He fell silent for a moment then glanced back at Amaya as he continued. "Don't have many folks on the island I'm particularly close to. Wouldn't want to lose one of the few friends I have to wanderlust."
Re: Room 711
Well. That little frank and earnest appeal hit a bit different than someone she figured was just being polite and proper about saying she'd be missed when she mentioned moving shop, didn't it? And Amaya was just sort of left staring at a whole lot of emotions that she probably wouldn't know what to do with even if she had seen them coming.
Zards, at least he wasn't crying or anything, though! Amaya didn't think she could handle two people going and crying on her all in the same month!
"Well," she tried, eventually, "I am always good for a kick in the pants, I'll give you that one. And, I mean, I've always been one to follow the money. So's long as we keep each other in business the way it looks like we plan to," and that was comfortable, right, to focus on that back-and-forth for the business!, "I see no reason in going through the trouble of unearthing roots that've already been planted..."
And, look, Amaya had only wanted to bring you a sandwich over here...
Re: Room 711
"Pretty sure you are going to be running circles around me once we get back to the island, I have no doubt."
See, safe and non emotional conversation. It was all good.
Re: Room 711
"Better pick up the pace, then," she said, leaning into the competition and the confidence, because she knew what made good armor, thank you very much. "Hard to be much of a fix-it guy if you're gonna have all that dust in your eye."

Re: Room 711
Confidence in her ability to handle anything that Dwight might throw her way in that regard, and confidence that they may have finally cleared the woods of any unexpected emotional detours for the time being, but she was just going to go ahead and take a nice big bite of her sandwich to prevent her from saying anything more that might shake that confidence.
Re: Room 711
"This trip has spoiled me" he said as he leaned back in the chair slightly. "All this amazing food. I'm gonna have to buckle down and really build on the basics Ignis is teaching us in that class and I'm gonna have to get better at cooking. Not sure I can go back to frozen dinners and mac n cheese after this week" he added with a chuckle.
Re: Room 711
"Was never really bothered much with cooking, myself," she said. "Been doing it since I was a girl, really." For reasons that would not and may hopefully never be mentioned, thank you very much! Don't even think about it! "But I keep it pretty simple, too, nothing fancy or anything like that."
She could only assume Ignis was only capable of strictly fancy foods.
Re: Room 711
Though it really was high time he figured out how make more than his daughter's old favorite foods without almost setting his apartment on fire. He'd be a long way off from these sorts of meals of course but anything would be an upgrade at this point.
