Bali Hai, Friday evening

There was an impromptu festival going on over on Bali Hai. The beach was decked out with streamers and unlit torches, and the mood was definitely on the gleeful side of happy.

The Fandomites will be made welcome, directed down towards the water for those who want to feed the dolphins, or watch while others do. Those who are more interested in libations than aquatic mammals will find drinks and snacks aplenty up at the swing bar.

Later, once the sun sets, there will be a performance of the island's best fire dancers, before everyone wanders back to Fandom.

[ooc: Up early for SP!
Plz to be waiting for the OCD, thanks.
3...2...1...and we have OCD. ETA: Assume handwavy IC knowledge it's happening, and it's open to all!]

"Ah, with you. That, I think, is within my capabilities."

He let her pull him up and then hold out his arms for a formal waltz. If she wanted something else, she'd have to direct him.

"It's more fun to dance with a partner," she told him, wrinkling her nose cheerfully as she slipped into proper position. Formal waltz was good enough for her--Ino was, actually, surprised that it had been so easy.

He smiled and started leading her in the dance, doing his best to keep to some version of the music's beat even if it did look somewhat odd.

"That it is."
intraspective: (Just a smile)

She kept step with him easily, ignoring the twinges of her newest bruises, and laughed softly.

"And you, by far, are the easiest for me to convince to dance."

"Yes, well, you are a singular exception to my usually difficult nature."

It was hard to say if that was sarcasm or not.
intraspective: (huh?)

That got some serious squinty face up at him as she tried to guess how much of that was the truth.

"I'm going to take that as a compliment, or something," Ino said after a long moment.

"It was meant to be," he told her with a smile as they danced.

"You missed soup the other day."
intraspective: (So totally right)

Ino was sort of glad she had. She still wasn't eating much.

"Yeah?" she asked lightly. "What kind of soup?"

"It's Greek in origin," he explained, "with a chicken broth base, orzo, egg, and lemon juice. It's a nice mix between the sour and the salty. "
intraspective: (huh?)

Re: Firedancers

[personal profile] intraspective 2008-06-07 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Ino blinked slightly. "Lemon? That sounds rather neat actually."

Re: Firedancers

[identity profile] new-to-liirness.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
He laughed, just a little.

"It's the same soup I made for the dinner before our trip that time," he told her. "That's what was in it, if you were wondering."
intraspective: (giggling)

Re: Firedancers

[personal profile] intraspective 2008-06-07 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
She giggled. "I did like that," Ino said, "but I don't generally think of my meals in terms of ingredients."

"Hopefully, you can survive my eccentric nature."
intraspective: (Just a smile)

"Oh, I don't know..." she said, making it very clear that she was teasing.

And it took some effort, but he managed a reasonably good pout at her. The green green eyes were really very helpful.
intraspective: (wibble)

Re: Firedancers

[personal profile] intraspective 2008-06-07 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
He was good at pouting, but A.J. had been the best pouter she'd ever met and Ino wasn't so bad at it herself.

She pouted right back at him, still keeping them moving in the dance.

He cheated.

And kissed her hair.
intraspective: (Grin!)

Re: Firedancers

[personal profile] intraspective 2008-06-07 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
That got a completely silly smile from her. "Cheater."

Re: Firedancers

[identity profile] new-to-liirness.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
"It doesn't change that I won, though."
intraspective: (thought you'd know stars)

Re: Firedancers

[personal profile] intraspective 2008-06-07 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
"You're not the only one that can cheat," she told him severely--

Then gave him her sweetest smile and said, "I love you, Liir." As a brother, but she didn't need to say that.

She meant it too. Which made it that much more effective.

[identity profile] new-to-liirness.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Cheater," he said in a soft voice, his eyes closed as he soaked it in. This was a memory that would barely need distilling.

"I love you too, Ino."

Said with a quiet intensity and just the hint of a warm smile.
intraspective: (happy blush)

Re: Firedancers

[personal profile] intraspective 2008-06-07 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Always," she said lightly, but quietly. And it was up to him to decide which she meant.

Re: Firedancers

[identity profile] new-to-liirness.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
He kissed her hair again.

"I still win."
intraspective: (Grin!)

Re: Firedancers

[personal profile] intraspective 2008-06-07 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Nuh huh," she said, grinning. "Little siblings always win in the end. It's the law."

Or something.

Re: Firedancers

[identity profile] new-to-liirness.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
"And yet the big sibling must always feel as if he won in spirit. Also 'the law'."
