Field trip to Normandy, All day Friday

The bus travelled quickly, maybe more quickly that anyone expected, and was soon pulling into the town of Bayeux.

It's the first stop of what promises to be a very full day. Enjoy!

Throwing pebbles at a very serious memorial was just plain rude. John wondered where Gavin had run off to.

Yes, he was going to get him back.

Gavin so wasn't going to peek out that quickly. He'd been trained, after all. So, he just stayed hidden and looked from left to right to make sure John couldn't sneak up on him.

Whistling a jaunty tune, John wandered around the memorials, pretending he was oblivious to Gavin's attack while he tried to find him.

Gavin stealthily crept around memorials, peeking out to see if he could see where John had walked to but losing him a few times.

Thinking he was pretty crafty, John paused to pretend to read one of the markers and got himself lost in a crowd moving back the way he'd came.

Gavin, seeing no sign of John, came out from his hiding place and started a leisurely walk through the crowd.

Spotting Gavin, John tried to maneuver his way to walk behind him through the crowd.

Gavin glanced behind him a few times, not really expecting to see anybody so not really paying much attention while he looked.

Wedge would lecture him so badly.

John was doing his best to turn his head or look down when he saw Gavin starting to look his way. It was a fun game, stalking Gavin through the memorials.

Gavin started to wonder just where John had gone to so he slowed his walk and slipped closer to an older man walking beside him. Just in case John tried to throw something, it'd hit someone else too.

John wondered if the old guy would get really mad or if there was anyone nearby him he could blame. Taking a fast sip of water, he coughed accidentally, silently cursing that he may have drawn unwanted attention.

Gavin vaguely heard the cough but he didn't want to give away that he'd heard the cough even though he heard it.

He tilted his head down, trying to catch a glimpse of whoever had made the sound out of the corner of his eye.

John saw Gavin tilt his head, but wasn't sure if he'd heard the cough. Persisting in looking like he belonged with the other people, John attempted to make idle conversation about the weather with an older lady who ended up just staring at him in confusion at his poor French.

Sensing nothing out of the ordinary, Gavin continued on, still sticking close to people so John would have other people wanting to kick his ass.

Really not pleased by Gavin's proximity to others, John sped up to come up beside him and shoulder bump him in the direction of other people. So mature.

And Gavin careened into the older man, sending them both stumbling. Gavin shot a glare in the direction of the shoulder bump.

"Teenage drunk!"

"Clumsy kid!" John retorted, shooting Gavin a dirty look. "Remember, you're supposed to put one foot in front of the other."

"And you're not supposed to drink eight bottles of STOLEN wine," Gavin said, skittering away from the man he'd bumped into.

"And you're not supposed to get girls PREGNANT and run away to France!" John said loudly, potentially turning the heads of anyone who spoke English.

Re: Make your own way

[identity profile] sixstandingby.livejournal.com 2008-05-31 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
"I hate you," Gavin said and dove at John's legs to trip him up.

Not expecting a non-verbal reaction, John stumbled back. "You had no right going after my mother!"

"Your mother hates you!" Gavin shouted.

"Well she's dead now!" John retorted.

"I didn't kill her!" Gavin shouted.

"No, you just broke her elderly heart!" John yelled, his hands cutting through the air to attempt to push Gavin again.
