Riften, Skyrim, Wednesday Afternoon/Evening
In comparison to Rorikstead, Riften is a metropolis. Though it has diminished somewhat in glory since the Civil War begun, it remains a large city set in the warmest part of Skyrim. That last part is evident also in the enormous amount of foliage - technically the Autumnal Forest starts just outside Riften's doors, but in reality, trees are found everywhere in the city.
Water, too: Riften was built partly on top of Lake Honrich, and the lake provides both trade lanes and an ever-present source of food for the city.

Re: Travelling to Riften
lacrossefarming than killing people, so Scott was gonna take that as a good sign. He was also going to spare a nervous glance for the band of adventurers Cosette pointed out, hoping they didn't have any way of like, magically detecting who was a werewolf or whatever. Enhanced healing or not, he wasn't looking to go out and get himself stabbed with a sword, thank you. "I hope the author at least told people that's what he was planning to do," he said. "I mean, I don't know if I'd just tell random people either, but- maybe if I thought it would make people realize that werewolves aren't all bad guys?" No, he definitely didn't have a personal stake in this completely hypothetical argument.Re: Travelling to Riften
"I would hope so. It would only be polite if he did, though I wouldn't be surprised if people feared otherwise," she decided, nodding firmly. "I wonder if that was what he had in mind? Do you think he wanted to give people that idea, that they oughtn't assume the worst?"

The player cheerfully makes up because Skyrim books are woefully short for obvious reasons but there could totally be more thereWhich, you know, Scott would rather live in some place with wifi, but he could still sort of sympathize.Re: Travelling to Riften
"The mountains here are lovely, I will say," she commented with a nod. "If one were to choose a place to stay for the rest of their life, one could certainly do far worse. But even if one had chosen it, I can't help but think how sad it would be for someone to be all alone for so long."
She bit her lip, clearly more than a little bit upset by even the hypothetical idea of forced hermitage. Because she was a giant softie.

She sighed. "And, to think about it, I suppose I would do the same if it were me."
