Banyan Tree Resort, Friday [Evening]

The temperature was holding at a not-so-chilly 27 degrees celsius (or eighty degrees fahrenheit for some of you). As night fell, a few clouds formed in the sky, but so far they seemed to be drifting past peacefully, releasing no unpleasant showers on the resort.

Nightfall meant the bars were open and booming, but there was plenty to do elsewhere, too!

"Dude, no way," April said, appalled. "I don't do pink things. That's your dare, man."
furnaceface: (... Ouch)

"Of course it is," Jonothon sighed, frowning at his drink before grabbing the little umbrella from the side of the glass and slipping it into April's drink. "Then I suppose there's only one way to be rid of it, hm? Bottom's up."

One swallow, two, and three, and then the damn thing was gone, and Jono's face was curiously blank as he set the empty glass back down on the bar.

Three.

Two.

One...

"Oh good god it's grenadine and strawberry please excuse me I'm going to need a moment thank you."

He just needed to kind of curl into himself for a moment and focus on not dying from too much taste.

April snorted. "You'd think a guy who had his chest cut open at one point could stand an alcoholic shirley temple."
furnaceface: (Konked out)

"Cut open my arse," Jono grumbled, his forehead resting on the bar, "it was gone. I blew the bloody thing away, along with half my bleedin' face. You try putting something like that in your mouth after nearly a decade without a tongue, see how you handle it."

The bartender was very close to cutting him off already, with talk like that.

"Dude, chill," April said. "We don't need to revisit the pictures."

"We could," Jonothon muttered as he groped about with one hand for his lager. "Nothing like an evening drinking for a trip down memory lane, is there?"

He had no intention of pulling out the pictures again, no.

"Paaaass," April said, stretching out the word for as long as possible. "No waterworks unless we're in the pool. Come on now."
furnaceface: (Recuperate)

"Well, if you insist." His hand closed around his bottle, and he sat up, taking a long drink from it. "Really, I'm not much for tears, at any rate. I'm British, after all."

Good. Conflict avoided. Excellent.

"Atta boy," April said. The effect might have been lost a bit in the deadpan. Maybe. "Want another beer?"

That was almost like an apology!
furnaceface: (Eheheh...)

By the time he set his bottle back down, it was most of the way to empty, so that worked out nicely.

"Carling," he said, pretty much immediately. And then he cracked the slightest bit of a grin. "Get the bartender to put one of those little umbrellas in it."

Apology accepted!
