Singita Boulders Lodge, South Africa, Monday [Morning and Early Afternoon]

The sun rose over the lodge in a stunning display of colors though without the musical accompaniment at way too early in the morning, but everyone was up anyway, right? It was time for the very first game drive around the park, and an early start was necessary to see the animals at the watering holes.

Fortunately in a lodge this nice, coffee was provided.

Good morning, Fandom! It's only 63 degrees (or 17, if you're a local) as you wake up, so bring a jacket along with your hat, camera, water and binoculars (and all the sunscreen--trust us) on the drive, but it'll warm up to a comfortable 79 (or26) by midafternoon. Ready to see some lions?

"I think Jackson thinks he's an exception to every rule," Jim replied, shaking his head. "His girlfriend tried to make me afraid of him the other weekend."

And that, like Jim found most things involving Jackson, was laughable.

"Guy's trying too hard," he decided. "I bet if he relaxed and took the stick out of his ass, he might be okay."

Apparently, the answer was 'wave over the waitress and order beers for him and Jim'.

"I've always been fond of punching," he replied, giving Atton a nod of thanks for buying the round. "And I think I'd punch Jackson even if unprovoked. Just because."

It'd make him laugh at the very least.

"I think you've got the right idea with drinking more instead, though. While bar fights are pretty fun, I think I prefer my drinking without blood loss for the most part."

"You're not wrong," Jim agreed with a slight nod. "They can be fun, sure, but waking up with a busted nose or a broken tooth or whatever usually kills that fun the next morning. Doesn't mean I'm gonna become all peace loving, though. Sometimes, you just gotta fight."

Jim pretended to think about that for a few seconds. "I think you could, yeah. You'd have to really turn on the charm and maybe make some promises in return but anything's possible."
