Copacabana Palace, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Sunday Afternoon and Evening

The Copacabana Hotel was certainly... statuesque. The front facade stood high and formal in the middle of lovely Rio, though, like a mullet, all the fun was in the back - at the beachside, where fun and sun would be waiting come tomorrow.

The Fandom contingent had managed to get their hands on some beachside rooms, though it was probably best not to ask who or what had made this much money change hands. Because it wasn't like anyone running this gig had any interesting off-shore accounts...

"I did! So yay for non-crazy roommates!" She knew Annie was a little bit neurotic, but she could live with that. She pulled back and asked Annie, "Do you know Cara? She does the radio; she's almost as much of a ball of sunshine there as she was when we had to share a room for a week."

"Scary Cara? Yeah, I've met her," Annie said, frowning. "I think I'd feel like I had to sleep with one eye open around her."

And she totally would have attempted to do so, too.

"Pretty much," Petra agreed. "I was a little afraid she was going to shiv me or something. She's kind of...I don't know, feral? Whatever."

She hesitated because this was where Cara had gone off the rails, but she did want to get it out there. "So just, like, roommate rules? I really don't like to change in front of people? So just knock before you open the bathroom door or whatever, is that okay? And if you have to move some of my stuff around or whatever that's fine, but Holly Go-Overnightly," which was a battered green leather overnight case with an Audrey Hepburn decal on it, which Petra was now patting in explanation, "has my meds in it, and they're all organized, so please don't mess with that."

"Oh, no problem. I'm not big on changing in front of people either. Boy roommate and all," Annie said with a wave of her hand. "I change in the bathroom, too. Also that's the best name for a suitcase ever."

Here she'd never even though of naming hers.

"We've been through a lot together, Holly and I," Petra said, a little wry. "So...I think we should get along fine! And you're not Cara, yay!" Then she thought of something, "Wait, what happens when you switch back? You are gonna switch back, right?"

"Oh, I'd better switch back," Annie said, very seriously. "I just woke up like this, so I guess I'll wake up just like me... Though... I don't know where."

"I'm sure it'll be fine," Petra assured her. "If...whoever this is...wait, actually, I think she's in the play." What was her name? "Rebecca? If Rebecca wakes up in here you guys can just swap rooms. I hope she's on the trip, yikes."

"I saw her at the causeway, so she should be here," Annie said. "Well... I saw me at the causeway. It was really weird."

"Oh, gosh, yeah," Petra said, "that would be really weird, I can't imagine." For all her issues with her body, it was still, you know, her body. It might be a work in progress but it was the only one she had. She held out her arms and asked, "Do you want another hug?" Would that help?

"It might," Annie decided, going in for one.
wasthecuteone: (hugs are great!)

Petra was pretty good at hugs, and now put this skill to good use. "It'll be okay. These things usually don't stick around more than a weekend."
