Copacabana Palace, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Sunday Afternoon and Evening

The Copacabana Hotel was certainly... statuesque. The front facade stood high and formal in the middle of lovely Rio, though, like a mullet, all the fun was in the back - at the beachside, where fun and sun would be waiting come tomorrow.

The Fandom contingent had managed to get their hands on some beachside rooms, though it was probably best not to ask who or what had made this much money change hands. Because it wasn't like anyone running this gig had any interesting off-shore accounts...

Yeah, Luke could get used to this Rio thing. The weather was great, the city looked fun and this hotel was awesome.

He tossed his bag on the bed nearest to the window. His roommate could just deal with it.

Percy wasn't even thinking of his possibility when it came to rooms. He'd just assumed he'd get someone he didn't know. So, coming into the room and seeing Luke had him stopping and staring for a moment or two.

This...was gonna be interesting if he was in the right room.

Luke had been facing the direction of the window so he hadn't seen Percy at first. But when he did turn around he couldn't quite hide the shock on his face.

"So...this is your room too, huh?"

Percy stepped out of the room and checked the room number one more time before he stepped back inside.

"Yeah, guess so. So, guess we're roommates then."

That would be...interesting.

"Guess so." The school had a strange sense of humor sometimes. "I claimed the bed with the best view, sorry."

If he didn't sound as upbeat and teasing as he could have been well...this was very awkward. Last Saturday wasn't that long ago.

"A bed's a bed to me," Percy said, putting his stuff on the empty bed. "Doubt I'm gonna spend hours just staring out the window or anything like. I just need a pillow and a blanket to sleep."

"Well I wasn't planning to stare out at the ocean all day either," Luke said. "Though from a window is how I prefer my ocean viewing experience."

"You're not gonna give the beaches a go?" Percy asked, raising an eyebrow. "Not even to say you went in once?"

"I didn't say that," Luke said. "I'll go to the beach, it's just getting in the water that's iffy."

His fear of water hadn't gotten better what with being aboard the Princess Andromeda when it exploded. Thanks, Percy.

"What else is there to do in Brazil?" Percy asked since he had absolutely no idea.

"Get drunk, eat, shop," Luke said with a shrug. "Check out hot Brazilian girls."

Gisele was Brazilian and she was hot so Luke inferred everyone must be that good looking.

"Several years older," Luke replied. "Brazilian drinking age is 18 so even without getting aged up a few years I'd still be able to drink here."

"Well, just don't...puke in here," Percy said, making a face. "If you do, I'm gonna leave it and take a picture of you with your face in it."

"I'm not gonna drink that much," Luke said, rolling his eyes. "What are you gonna do then? You're not gonna be at the beach the entire time, are you?"

"Nothing," Luke said. "We're just in another country. Thought you'd want to explore or something. You can go to the beach anywhere."

"Well, I'm not gonna spend the entire time at the beach," Percy said sheepishly. "I mean, I need to eat sometime, don't I?"

"Ew." Percy shook his head. "I won't spend the entire time at the beach if you're worried. I'll go...take a walk in the city or something."

"I wasn't worried, just curious." He was worried about other stuff though, and he turned his back to Percy to unpack his bag so he wouldn't have to look at the other boy while he talked about it.

"Are you okay with this?" Luke asked. "If you're not cool with it, I can try to find another room or just avoid the place until you're out or asleep or something."

"I'm fine with it," Percy said, trying to sound nonchalant. "We just gotta...sleep around each other and all. It's not a big deal. We've done it before."

"I'm fine with it if you are," Luke said, nodding. "Just, um, do me a favor and don't like come out of the shower wearing just a towel or anything like that."

Because that would be unfair.

"You putting clothing restrictions on me?" That was kind of funny, he had to admit. "Okay, fine, I'll do my best not to do that."

"I actually think it's a no 'no clothing' rule," Luke said. "I'll do my best to comply with it as well."

Of course there were some obvious ways to get around that, but Luke wasn't gonna go out of his way to prove that. With no pollen in the air sleeping with each other would...well it'd make things more confusing than they already were.
