And so our heroes have broken up into smaller groups.

One to rescue Dawn and stop Harth from whatever he had planned.

The other to protect the Watcher building and allow Willow to cast her spell.

"It worked?" Xander pointed over the edge of the balcony, then back to Erin's fallen body, his face twisted with confusion.

"I guess my brother wasn't the person I thought he was," Mel said wiping her eyes again. "I-"

She stopped and clenched her eyes tight for a second before managing to speak again. "Can we go home now?"

'He did that with a soul,' Xander finally put into words, if only in his head. One way or another, Mel had lost her whole family today, just when she thought she was getting them back.

"Yeah, we can go home." He offered her his arm, if she'd take it.

Mel was trying not to think of anything at the moment but unconsciously she took his arm as they walked away.
