Haddyn: 200 years in the Future (Day Three)

And so our heroes have broken up into smaller groups.

One to rescue Dawn and stop Harth from whatever he had planned.

The other to protect the Watcher building and allow Willow to cast her spell.

From the streets the lurks slowly begin to surround the building, blocking any chance for escape.

Harth's Lair: Sneaking in...

The rescue crew wait until most of the lurks have drifted away before trying to sneak in.

Unfortunately there are still plenty of vampires about.

Harth's Lair: Rescuing Dawn...

Dawn hangs from the ceiling, strapped spread-eagled on rack above a ceremonial site drawn on the ground.

A shallow cut on her arms and abdomen slowly drip to the ground where a strange glow is beginning to form.

The vampire guards (A couple who have bruises where they've been kicked by a certain watcher Jr.) turn to face the rescue party.

Harth's Lair: Harth himself...

Harth stands above the chaos on a balcony overseeing the chaos.

He continues to chant as the attack begins, his eyes focused on the portal opening below.

With Dawn (presumably) rescued the group returns to find the Watcher building battered but still standing.

Much like most of the heroes returning.

Dawn, totally hanging there, staring at the ground below her and waiting for it to just fall away. Watching the drips fall into the glow and waiting for dragons and demons and...

It was almost hypnotic.

Mel fought her way through the line of lurks like an insane person. She climbed her way up the wall and jumped to the ground with a loud thunk.

She pulled out her scythe and slowly began to approacher her big brother.

"Hey there Scaredy," Mel said looking grim. "It's been a while."

Harth stopped chanting and closed the text he was writing.

"Oh Mel. You never write. You never call. Is that how you treat someone you love?"

"Nah. You open up a portal to hell and unleash demons on earth," Mel quipped as she swung her scythe idly back and forth. "Sorry I didn't bring a hallmark card for the occasion. They were fresh out."

Harth shook his head. "You always were the inconsiderate one, Mel. Now if we're done here I do have an Apocalypse I need to finish."

"I don't think so," Mel said rushing into attack with her scythe.

Sam and sneaky did not always go well together, but he was doing his best as the rescue crew tried to get inside.

Harth easily ducked under the swinging scythe and swept his leg under Mel.

Mel managed to hop over the leg sweep and quickly spun again aim her scythe at Harth's neck.

The creature standing a few feet away watching probably didn't think Sam was doing very well with sneaking.

Harth caught the blade between his palms inches away from his neck.

"You've been practicing," he remarked.

"Thanks for noticing," Mel said throwing an elbow at Harth's face and attempting him to knee him in the gut.

Harth's head wrenched and then he doubled over at both blows...

"But you're still sloppy."

And with a very quick kick he sent Mel flying into a wall.

"And you're not trying very hard. Do you think stalling will give your little witch some time to work her spell?"

Okay, Sam might not have been sneaky, but at least he was prepared, and the grip he had on the knife in his pocket tightened a little

"I'll do whatever it takes," Mel snarled as she pulled herself to her feet and launched herself at Harth. "One way or another we're ending this tonight."

The lurk decided this was a good moment to leap forward, springing towards Sam's neck.
