Anakin couldn't stop a smile from crossing his face as the Temple transport flew closer to their final destination.

When the planet finally came into view, he called the flight students to look out the window.



"Welcome to Coruscant," he said, pointing. "We'll be landing in a few minutes. Strap yourselves in, please."

[OOC: Oh, the OCD has barely begun, my friends... Play away! Coruscant and it's merry minions are open through Friday for your convenience...]

Arriving at the Temple

Anakin fussed with his hair--to the obvious amusement of the Jedi piloting the transport--and took a couple of deep breaths as the Temple came into view.


Three figures, one tall and dark, the other short and green, and one smiling and all-too-familiar to Anakin, emerged from the shadows as the transport landed.

Anakin swallowed hard and walked down the ramp to greet them. "Master Windu. Master Yoda," he said, bowing. "A pleasure to see you again." He turned and made another bow. "Master Kenobi," he said, trying not to grin and failing. "It's been too long."

Mace Windu returned Anakin's bow. "Skywalker," he said steadily.

Yoda smiled. "To Coruscant, most welcome you are," he said to the students. "Introduce us to your friends, hmmm?" he said to Anakin.

Obi-Wan let Master Yoda welcome the students first, but had a warm smile for his Padawan. "Anakin, it's good to have you back among us. It has been too long - I think some of the younglings have been finding some other Jedi's adventures to memorize."

"Force forbid," Anakin replied with a smile, walking closer. "I'll be back soon enough--we'll have to work on that. It wouldn't do if Master Vos has better stories."

Taking the Jedi Starfighters Up

Anakin led the workshop students from the transport to the starfighter hanger bay.

Two dozen Jedi starfighters gleamed under the lights.

Anakin practically bounced up and down in excitement before bowing to the Jedi Master waiting for them. "Here we are," he said, grinning. "Enough ships for everyone."

Bridge gives all the ships a thoughtful glance before making a beeline for the one painted with green accents.

Jaye's psyched herself up. For her own doom.

Except every time she takes a step closer to the ships, she slows down a little.

And look, she just stopped.

She studies the starfighters for a minute.

And then she says, "I am not the suicidal kind of crazy, oh my god nuh uh."

Marie? Nervous about flying a real spaceship? No, not at all.

It's a really good thing she didn't listen to Jaye's radio broadcast the other day.

This was the real thing. Jude was having trouble concentrating on anything other than his inner monologue that at the moment was just the word "Dude!" repeated in different intonations. The communicator, sadly, didn't fit over his tuque, which had to be shoved in his pocket as he climbed into the ship and looked over the controls.

Dude dude dude dude dude this was the real thing!

Must . . . remember . . . to breathe . . .

Alanna came up to a ship and then quickly backed away. "No way."

Alec grinned and headed towards a ship that seemed slightly less shiny and new, but not at all badly cared for. He was really looking forward to this, after having figured out where he'd been messing up in the sim runs; in outer space, lacking gravity, use the planet as a guide, and don't freak out.

He patted the ship as he approached, bouncing a little himself as his grin threatened to grow wider still.

Molly hopped over to the closest ship and spent a few minutes walking all around it. The interior of the simulator may have been accurate, but the outside had looked nothing like this.

Peter hopped into a starfighter, put on his comm, and squeed. "This is so cool. Beats driving a car, that's for sure."

Running Through the Trench [First Run]

Zero-gravity canyon run exercise in manuverability. The weapons are turned off for this. An average pilot can get through it in ten minutes.

A Jedi can do it in seven.

Anakin set the course record at five and a half.

Marie wasn't interested in dying in a spaceship crash on another planet. That would be really hard to explain to her parents.

It took her about 16 minutes to complete the run.

Jude was very, very nervous. Simulations were good, but they were like video games. They can be reset if you crash. This . . . well, he would be reset if you believed in that reincarnation stuff. Needless to say, he wasn't on the top of his form and cleared the course a hair under ten minutes and by the end his hands were going to be hard to detach from the controls.

Now the ten targets are lit up along the route. Your weapons are live. Nothing's shooting back at you.

Light 'em up.

An average pilot can go through in twelve minutes.

A Jedi can do it in nine.

Anakin's done it in seven minutes flat.

Ask Anakin for Advice Before Exploring

After the flight workshop was completed, Anakin gave the students a quick tour of The Temple (http://community.livejournal.com/fh_trips/13414.html) and an even faster overview of Coruscant (http://community.livejournal.com/fh_trips/13620.html), then cut the students loose to explore on their own.

But he stuck around for a little while to answer any questions they might have.

Heading Back to Fandom [Saturday Afternoon]

Anakin stood rocking on his toes waiting for the rest of the flight students to arrive.

Not that he thought some of them might've gotten lost.

But, yeah, he was afraid some of them might've gotten lost.
