Welcome to Coruscant! [Friday morning into Saturday afternoon]

Anakin couldn't stop a smile from crossing his face as the Temple transport flew closer to their final destination.

When the planet finally came into view, he called the flight students to look out the window.

"Welcome to Coruscant," he said, pointing. "We'll be landing in a few minutes. Strap yourselves in, please."

[OOC: Oh, the OCD has barely begun, my friends... Play away! Coruscant and it's merry minions are open through Friday for your convenience...]

Bridge gives all the ships a thoughtful glance before making a beeline for the one painted with green accents.

Jaye's psyched herself up. For her own doom.

Except every time she takes a step closer to the ships, she slows down a little.

And look, she just stopped.

She studies the starfighters for a minute.

And then she says, "I am not the suicidal kind of crazy, oh my god nuh uh."

Marie? Nervous about flying a real spaceship? No, not at all.

It's a really good thing she didn't listen to Jaye's radio broadcast the other day.

This was the real thing. Jude was having trouble concentrating on anything other than his inner monologue that at the moment was just the word "Dude!" repeated in different intonations. The communicator, sadly, didn't fit over his tuque, which had to be shoved in his pocket as he climbed into the ship and looked over the controls.

Dude dude dude dude dude this was the real thing!

Must . . . remember . . . to breathe . . .

Alanna came up to a ship and then quickly backed away. "No way."

Alec grinned and headed towards a ship that seemed slightly less shiny and new, but not at all badly cared for. He was really looking forward to this, after having figured out where he'd been messing up in the sim runs; in outer space, lacking gravity, use the planet as a guide, and don't freak out.

He patted the ship as he approached, bouncing a little himself as his grin threatened to grow wider still.

Molly hopped over to the closest ship and spent a few minutes walking all around it. The interior of the simulator may have been accurate, but the outside had looked nothing like this.

Peter hopped into a starfighter, put on his comm, and squeed. "This is so cool. Beats driving a car, that's for sure."

Zack whimpered before getting into his ship.

Marie wasn't interested in dying in a spaceship crash on another planet. That would be really hard to explain to her parents.

It took her about 16 minutes to complete the run.

Re: Running Through the Trench [First Run]

[identity profile] dude-its-jude.livejournal.com 2006-08-18 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Jude was very, very nervous. Simulations were good, but they were like video games. They can be reset if you crash. This . . . well, he would be reset if you believed in that reincarnation stuff. Needless to say, he wasn't on the top of his form and cleared the course a hair under ten minutes and by the end his hands were going to be hard to detach from the controls.

Re: Running Through the Trench [First Run]

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-08-19 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
This was what Peter had been waiting for. With a real ship in a real run, his spider-sense was active. Combined with his enhanced reflexes, he'd probably be able to manage this well.

And sure enough, he managed the exercise in just over ten minutes. Ten wild minutes where he nearly crashed a half dozen times. But almost doesn't count.

[identity profile] twohalvesofaphd.livejournal.com 2006-08-19 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Zack...didn't crash.

Sure the paint on the fighter was horribly, horribly scratched. But he didn't crash.

Taking off his gloves before starting the course, Bridge manages to finish in just over nine minutes.

Re: Running Through the Trench [First Run]

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2006-08-19 09:58 am (UTC)(link)
Enhanced senses and reflexes, combined with the excitement of flying in space for the first time, meant that Alec sped through the course in a little over six minutes.

If he'd been grinning any larger, he might have hurt something.

[identity profile] untouchableskin.livejournal.com 2006-08-18 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
This one? Took Marie almost 20 minutes.

She definitely wasn't comfortable with the weapons.

She also had some troubles with the landing.

Re: Running Through the Trench [Second Run]

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-08-19 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
Peter had trouble hitting the targets on this run, making his time a little less impressive than last time. Still, fifteen minutes was nothing to sneeze at for a first-timer pilot, he felt.

[identity profile] twohalvesofaphd.livejournal.com 2006-08-19 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
The route had a large number of very attractive sorch marks decorating it by the tme Zack was finished.

The paint was also a lot more scratched.

This course, Bridge manages to finish in just under eleven minutes.
