Anakin couldn't stop a smile from crossing his face as the Temple transport flew closer to their final destination.

When the planet finally came into view, he called the flight students to look out the window.



"Welcome to Coruscant," he said, pointing. "We'll be landing in a few minutes. Strap yourselves in, please."

Arriving at the Temple

Anakin fussed with his hair--to the obvious amusement of the Jedi piloting the transport--as the Temple came into view.



Two figures, one tall and dark, the other short and green, emerged from the shadows as the transport landed.

Anakin swallowed hard and walked down the ramp to greet them. "Master Windu. Master Yoda," he said, bowing. "A pleasure to see you again."

Mace returned the bow. "Skywalker," he replied. He glanced over Anakin's shoulder. "Introduce us to your students?"

If his mouth quirked up a little at the idea of Anakin Skywalker teaching anything, it was gone so fast as to be practically imperceptible.

Anakin nodded. "This is Aeryn Sun, Sam Carter, Cameron Mitchell, Belthazor, Blair Sandburg, Rory Gilmore, Peter Pevensie, Cedric Diggory and Draco Malfoy," he said, pointing them out as he introduced them. "And this is Jedi Master Mace Windu, and Master Yoda," he concluded.

Taking the Jedi Starfighters up

Anakin led the workshop students from the transport to the starfighter hanger bay.

Two dozen Jedi starfighters gleamed under the lights.

Anakin practically bounced up and down in excitement before bowing to the Jedi Master waiting for them. "Here we are," he said, grinning. "Enough ships for everyone."

Picking a ship out, putting on your spiffy Jedi hairband communicator, taking off....

Aeryn of course has absolutely no problem in finding a starfighter she finds suitable. And the hairhand communicator is going to make it very hard to go back to the stupid hats.

Blair choose a ship and got in carefully, making sure to check which buttons would be used for spinning.

Rory selected a ship and got in slightly nervously, though she tried to hide it. She rather liked the communicator, though. It was shiny and much more stylish than she would have expected.

Draco chose a ship that sort of looked like one of the ones he had flown in the simulator. He got in it and began to push buttons. Avoiding the one he knew would start the engine of course.

Peter was more than a bit nervous about the actual flying experience, but he found a suitable starfighter and adjusted the hairband thingy. Getting in, he tried to familiarise himself with the controls before they actually took off.

Sam spent a while looking at the ships, and ended up trying to talk to the mechanics before she picked one. The hairband communicator was definitely an improvement, though.

Cameron studied every inch of the ship before getting inside and running over the controls. It was exactly like in the simulator, but this time it was real. Excited didn't even come close to describing his mood right now.

Anakin actually got to fly this week. If it wouldn't be terribly undignified, he'd be matching Blair for bounciness.

The Jedi who'd been assigned to watch the class gave him a small smile as Anakin made a beeline for his favorite starfighter and ran through a quick diagnostic.

He was home.

Running through the Trench (First run)

Zero-gravity canyon run exercise in manuverability. The weapons are turned off for this. An average pilot can get through it in ten minutes.

A Jedi can do it in seven.

Anakin set the course record at five and a half.

Now the ten targets are lit up along the route. Your weapons are live. Nothing's shooting back at you.

Light 'em up.

An average pilot can go through in twelve minutes.

A Jedi can do it in nine.

Anakin's done it in seven minutes flat.

After the flight work was completed, Anakin gave a quick tour of the Temple (http://community.livejournal.com/fh_trips/11470.html) and a even quicker briefing about Coruscant (http://community.livejournal.com/fh_trips/11522.html), then cut the flight workshop students loose to explore on their own.

But he stuck around to answer any questions before he went off to take care of his own errands.

Sam grinned at Anakin a bit evilly. "So, I need a suitable souvenir for Kawalsky. Where do I go?"

Anakin stood rocking on his toes in front of the transport that would take them home, checking his chrono every ten seconds.

He wanted to head back to Fandom as soon as physically possible.

Cameron made it to the transport, pushing forth his newly acquired swoop bike and hoping it'd fit on the transport somewhere.
